There is some overlap between the trustees and executive committee. The executive committee seeks trustee’s views on charity matters. Both trustees and executive committee work together in deciding the events and activities to ensure that they align with the charity objectives. All trustees give their time voluntarily and received no remuneration or other benefits._ Relationship with any related parties Trustees’ consideration of major risks and the system and procedures to manage them 2 ## **Objectives and activities** **Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document** _The advancement of education of the public in the UK in Indian culture through the provision of traditional Indian cultural events. The relief of financial hardship, either generally or individually, of people living in India by making grants of money to charities for providing or paying for items, services or facilities._ _In planning our activities for the year we kept in mind the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit._ _The main activities that we undertook in 2024 were as follows:_ - _Saraswati Puja_ - _Charity Outdoor Day_ - _Donation to Swadhina, Kankhal Medical Aid, Manobik Chandpur_ **Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects** - _Durga Puja (this was done for the first time)_ - • _Kali Puja and Diwali event;_ - _Members events – Holi (Festival of Colour), Nababorsho (Bengali New Year) & Bijoya Sammiloni_ _Saraswati Puja and Kali Puja & Diwali event are festivities that highlight the multi-cultural facet of the Indian community. It engages the community with greater social participation in traditional ceremonies, at the same time spreading the rich cultural heritage of India within the community. These events were open to the general public. For the first time, we organized Durga Puja, which is traditionally a 5 day community festival, however, was done over 3 days by us. It has the same ethos as the other two festivals and engaged great social participation and spread the cultural heritage of India. The event was carried out in a village in Upper Basildon, where, the nearby residents also attended._ _Sanskriti, through its donation to an Indian charity Swadhina, fulfilled and continue its long-standing ambition to support girls’ education in rural India and to support the underprivileged through the provision of educational facilities. Swadhina, a registered charity in India, works at the ground level and Sanskriti through its collaboration with Swadhina, launched the opening and running of the educational facility in the Musabani area of Jharkhand, India. The Charity Outdoor Day was organized in July 2024 as a fund raising event to raise fund for this worthy cause._ _Kankhal Medical Aid (KMA) helps the Ramakrishna Sevashram Charity Hospital in Hardwar, India in its quest to provide free medical aid to the poor people of the neighbouring villages. Sanskriti has been supporting KMA for many years and that support was continued in 2024._ 3 ## **Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)** You **may choose** to include further statements, where relevant, about: Policy on grantmaking Policy programme related investment Contribution made by Volunteers _We are grateful for the many hours our members have put iin - during planning, organizing and executing the events during the year._ _This included the AGM held in April 2024 where the trustees presented the charity work that we did in the previous year and our future ambition, while the executive committee members presented the event plans for 2024._ _Following the AGM, the minutes of meeting was shared amongst all members._ 4 ## Achievements and performance ## **Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year.** _Organising the Charity Outdoor Day (fund raising event for Swadhina) AGM held in person on 14[th] April 2024 Durga Puja event, hosted in Upper Basildon, over a period of 3 days Kali Pujo & Diwali Event hosted at Sindlesham Court, Wokingham Sanskriti enjoyed great participation from general public and by hosting these events at different places meant that we engaged different parts of the community_ 5 **Financial review** **Brief statement of the charity’s policy on reserves** _operational unforeseen expenditure that may occur. The fund may be used to host a cultural event in 2025/2026. I report in respect of my examination of your charity’s accounts as carried out under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011 (“the 2011 Act”).
