TRUSTEES REPORT (INCLUDING DIRECTORS' REPORT) FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2023
The trustees present their annual report and financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2023.
This report outlines the ongoing efforts and achievements of Pwrpas in 2023 as we continue to work towards our mission of supporting the mental health of men in Wrexham and surrounding areas.
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in note 1 to the financial statements and comply with the charity's governing document, the Companies Act 2006 and "Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102)" (effective 1 January 2019).
Objectives and activities
The charitable purposes of the charity are to preserve and protect the physical and mental health of men residing in Wrexham and surrounding areas by:

Providing an information website.

Raising awareness of mental health through workshops and training sessions.
To further our charitable purposes for public benefit, we carried out the following activities:

Monitored and developed social media accounts to raise awareness across North Wales.

Engaged with local community groups and employers to expand the charity’s reach.

Held trustee meetings to review findings and plan future developments.

Partnered with Gatewen Training Services to increase awareness using vehicle livery, posters, and information cards.

Distributed ‘pop-up’ display stands to employer partners to promote Pwrpas.
The trustees have paid due regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission in deciding what activities the charity should undertake.
Achievements and performance
The main achievements of Pwrpas this year were:

Expanded our network of providers to increase the charity’s impact.

Built deeper connections within the local community.

Fostered relationships with corporate partners by attending networking events.

Sponsorship
In an attempt to continue to raise awareness, Pwrpas sponsored events in male dominated areas on new platforms such as YouTube. This included Shine Automotive, Baxden Car Breakers and Rory Hinckly Racing to take part in the 2023 Total Karting Zero and CLUB100 championships.
Financial review
2023 was the third year that the charity received donations. These were from:
AN Richards Ltd £200.00, JM Cooke £782.50, Mindful Training £910.88, Europe Core £5.00, AJ Mullock £1,764.00, Europe Core £8.41, Just Giving £428.20.
The donations totalled £4,098.20.
The trustees have read the Commission’s Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance, and have had regard to this when running the charity.
A review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the year:
In the financial year from 2022 to 2023. The Charity had an income of £4,099 and an expenditure of £1,500.
There are no funds held by the charity that are materially in deficit.
Structure, governance and management
The Charity was formed in January 2021. The Charity is governed by a Constitution.
The Charity is constituted as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.

The trustees, who are also the directors for the purpose of company law, and who served during the year and up to the date of signature of the financial statements were:

Recruitment and appointment of new trustees.
As is set of in the Constitution. Every new trustee must be appointed by a resolution at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees.
In selecting individuals for appointment as charity trustees, the charity trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO.
The Trustees report was approved by the Board of Trustees.

ACCOUNTANTS' REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES ON THE PREPARATION OF THE UNAUDITED STATUTORY FINANCIAL STATEMENTS OF PWRPAS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2023
In order to assist you to fulfil your duties under the Companies Act 2006, we have prepared for your approval the financial statements of Pwrpas for the year ended 31 December 2023, which comprise the statement of financial activities and the related notes from the charity’s accounting records and from information and explanations you have given us.
This report is made to the charity's trustees, as a body, in accordance with the terms of our engagement letter. Our work has been undertaken solely to prepare for your approval the financial statements of Pwrpas and state those matters that we have agreed to state to the charity's trustees, as a body, in this report. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than Pwrpas and the charity's trustees as a body, for our work or for this report.
It is your duty to ensure that Pwrpas has kept adequate accounting records and to prepare statutory financial statements that give a true and fair view of the assets, liabilities, financial position and surplus of Pwrpas. You consider that Pwrpas is exempt from the statutory audit requirement for the year, and is not required to obtain an independent examiner's report.
We have not been instructed to carry out an audit or a review of the financial statements of Pwrpas. For this reason, we have not verified the accuracy or completeness of the accounting records or information and explanations you have given to us and we do not, therefore, express any opinion on the statutory financial statements.

The company is entitled to the exemption from the audit requirement contained in section 477 of the Companies Act 2006, for the year ended 31 December 2023.
The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 with respect to accounting records and the preparation of financial statements.
The members have not required the company to obtain an audit of its financial statements for the year in question in accordance with section 476.
These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

1 Accounting policies
Charity information
Pwrpas was registered as a charitable incorporated organisation on 1 January 2021 and is governed by its constitution and registered with the Charity Commission under charity number 1192980. The charity’s principal office address is Unit 4, Pinfold Lane, Llay Industrial Estate South, Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PX.
1.1 Accounting convention
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the charity's governing document, the Companies Act 2006, FRS 102 “The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland” (“FRS 102”) and the Charities SORP "Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102)" (effective 1 January 2019). The charity is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by FRS 102.
The charity has taken advantage of the provisions in the SORP for charities not to prepare a Statement of Cash Flows.
The financial statements are prepared in sterling, which is the functional currency of the charity. Monetary amounts in these financial statements are rounded to the nearest £.
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention. The principal accounting policies adopted are set out below.
1.2 Going concern
At the time of approving the financial statements, the trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus the trustees continue to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the financial statements.
1.3 Charitable funds
Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of their charitable objectives.
Restricted funds are subject to specific conditions by donors or grantors as to how they may be used. The purposes and uses of the restricted funds are set out in the notes to the financial statements.
Endowment funds are subject to specific conditions by donors that the capital must be maintained by the charity.
1.4 Income
Income is recognised when the charity receives the income.
Cash and other donations are recognised on receipt.
Grant income is recognised on receipt.
1.5 Expenditure
Expenditure is recognised on payment.
1.6 Cash and cash equivalents
Cash and cash equivalents include cash in hand, deposits held at call with banks, other short-term liquid investments with original maturities of three months or less, and bank overdrafts. Bank overdrafts are shown within borrowings in current liabilities.

5 Trustees
None of the trustees (or any persons connected with them) received any remuneration or benefits from the charity during the year.
6 Taxation
The charity is exempt from taxation on its activities because all its income is applied for charitable purposes.

7 Unrestricted funds
The unrestricted funds of the charity comprise the unexpended balances of donations and grants which are not subject to specific conditions by donors and grantors as to how they may be used. These include designated funds which have been set aside out of unrestricted funds by the trustees for specific purposes.
