Activities

Coalition for Genocide Response monitors human rights abuses, raising awareness of human rights issues with a specific focus on mass atrocities that may amount to genocide, but also crimes against humanity and war crimes; and contributes to the sound administration of human rights law.

Objects: The Objects Of The CIO Are The Promotion Of Human Rights (As Set Out In The Convention On The Prevention And Punishment Of The Crime Of Genocide (The Genocide Convention), The Universal Declaration Of Human Rights ("Udhr") And Subsequent United Nations Conventions And Declarations And In Regional Codes Of Human Rights Which Incorporate Those Rights) And The Elimination Of The Infringement Of The Genocide Convention Anywhere In The World By All Or Any Of The Following Means: Raising Awareness Of Human Rights Issues With A Specific Focus On Mass Atrocities That May Amount To Genocide, Crimes Against Humanity And War Crimes; Monitoring Abuses Of Human Rights; Promoting Public Support And Engagement For The Protection Of Human Rights; Providing Technical Advice To Government And Others On Human Rights Matters;contributing To The Sound Administration Of Human Rights Law; Commenting On Proposed Human Rights Legislation; Working Toward More Effective Redress Mechanisms For The Victims Of Human Rights Abuse And Relieving Need Among The Victims Of Human Rights Abuse; Promoting Respect For Human Rights Among Individuals And Corporations; International Advocacy Of Human Rights;eliminating Infringements Of Human Rights;commissioning And Conducting Research Into Human Rights Abuse. Nothing In This Constitution Shall Authorise An Application Of The Property Of The CIO For The Purposes Which Are Not Charitable In Accordance With [Section 7 Of The Charities And Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005] And [Section 2 Of The Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008]
