The trustees ensure that the club is governed effectively within the charity framework to provide the highest public benefit to the local community. The trustees have produced a set of club rules to reflect best practice within the club and to ensure the club is open to all. The club provide outdoor practice sessions during the playing season which are run by qualified and certified coaches. In addition to the trustees, there are approximately 25 volunteers who assist with different aspects of the club. These include contributions made towards pitch preparation, junior coaching and supervision, fund raising events, ground and equipment maintenance and membership administration. The trustees would like to recognise these contributions and record their thanks. You **may choose** to include further statements, where relevant, about: - policy on grantmaking; - policy programme related investment; - contribution made by volunteers. The trustees perform an annual appraisal of the club’s current position and review its financial position in line with this. The club’s aims/objectives for the next 12 months are to: - Continue to grow membership at senior and junior levels - Focus on development of younger members and their transition into senior teams. - Continue to expand and promote our ladies cricket section of the club and increase involvement in festivals and matches. - Continue to invest in the club’s assets to improve the cricketing experience within the club - Make improvements to off field areas including a project to install an artificial net practice areas - Increase the number of qualified coaches - Continue to promote the offering of cricket to the local community ## Section D Achievements and performance **TAR** March **2012** 4 ## Section D Achievements and erformance p The club fielded teams in four leagues including two Saturday teams, one **Summary of the main** Sunday and one Mid-Week side, plus a ladies section **achievements of the charity during the year** Our first XI again maintained their position in Division Two of the NTCL despite the restrictions of a relatively small playing squad. This benefits other members of the club with several younger members gaining experience of playing at a higher level. Our 2[nd] XI had a comfortable season in Division six again narrowly missing out on promotion. Several junior members participated regularly in the 2[nd] XI with others playing on a less frequent basis. This was in line with our intention to provide opportunity for younger members to progress within the club. This was also apparent in our Midweek and Sunday sides which regularly consisted of a majority of under 18s alongside more experienced cricketers to aid their development. Our Ladies section participated in several festivals and an indoor league, in addition to regular weekly training nights, The club again ran the ECB’s All Stars Programme for 5-8 year olds with 39 participants this year. We also ran the ECB’s Dynamos programme for 8-11 year olds with 47 participants. Progression from All Stars to Dynamos from previous participants was strongly evident. This natural progression within the club is also evident in our planning for the 2025 season. Due to the high number of Dynamos cricketers progressing to Under 11 cricket we will be fielding two teams at Under 11 level this year. Our under 11s, 13s and 15s continue to progress and develop their skills in hard ball cricket with indoor training continuing through the winter months in preparation for the season ahead. The club’s membership continues to grow with 193 associated members. The club continue to focus on improving facilities for members which this season has included renovations to the social area in the clubhouse. We are also in discussions with the ECB and NCB relating to improving the playing surface at the ground. Our main focus for 2025 is to raise sufficient funds to be able to install an off field artificial practice area. **TAR** March **2012** 5 ## **Section E Financial review** The trustees review the restricted cash reserves of the club on an **Brief statement of the** ongoing basis.
