## **Report to Trustees Hastings AC Financial Year ending 30 September 2023** 

As with most Voluntary Organisations, this has been another difficult year for the Club. It is still recovering from the impact of covid and there is a continued shortage of volunteers able, or willing, to get involved in Club Management duties. 

The main priority of the Club has been to expand its base of qualified coaches so that the strict safeguarding rules of the Athletics Authorities are complied with. This is progressing slowly. 

The second priority was to implement a new Club Website based on a package rather than bespoke software, and similarly, a package-based Membership System. The Membership Package – Coacha – has been successfully implemented with considerable benefits both in financial and information areas. The implementation of the website is imminent. It has been designed to link in with Coacha providing an effective information system for Members. 

Finance is also a continuing problem. At the 2022 AGM the Club decided that, in the current financial situation, it could only increase Membership and associated fees by a limited amount. The deficit this year, compared to the previous, i.e.  £2683 against £204, obviously looks worse, but in the20/21 financial year a most generous grant of £4000 was received. 

An agreement to the increase in fees will be sought at the Club’s AGM. This, together with the additional monitoring available through the Coacha package and increasing membership, should enable the Club to achieve a more stable financial situation in future.
