REPORT (CONTINUED) FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2024 Achlevements and ￿rfOrManCe Flnanclal review Income from our investments including bank deposits fell from £1,605,587 in 2023 to £1,260,199 as we shifted ¢)ur investment strategy out of cash and into our portfolios with Barclays Wealth and UBS to obtain better caprtal gro in the medium and long temi. Investment management fees amounted to £427k and we paid out grants (rf £5.58m. Other than the payment for our audrt fee and one or other small costs we had no othei op&rating costs, with trustees giving their time freoly lo manage the chatbty. Tho investments we made increased by £12.7m. Overall we made a suiplus of £7.95m for Ihe year. Reserves policy The charity received ong off donalions of £86.3m after its foTmalion. The trustees decicled to invest the donations re￿iVed lo produce an annual income to allow the charty to pay out grants mainly in the Sunderland and surrounding area. However there is no pokcy to relain the core capi181 arising from the donations, and larger donations wll be made on a case by case basis. The reserves policy is to relain enough funds to enable the chanty to make donations for at least the next 10 years.
