Blidworth – on the move support network Charity number 1192863 Trustees Annual report for year ending 31/05/2021 This newly formed charity was created at the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic – initially as an unregistered charity and then formally registered in September 2020. The accounting year has been brought forward to 31/5. Funding has been received from a number of local grant funding organisations to enable the initial purchase of a vehicle and fitting out with safety features and appropriate PPE protection to be used for transportation of people of all ages from their homes to local medical facilities inc hospitals, doctors surgeries, opticians etc where they have no other means of transport. In addition to the vital work of the transport side of the charity, the charity also runs a number of standalone groups and Partners with others to provide community support. Within this period the charity has started and continues to run a computer training group to enable the isolated (and older generation) to connect with the digital world and learn how technology can be used in a positive way. An online singing group has run and was enjoyed by all those taking part. The intention in the next financial period is develop more partnerships with other groups and the charity is seeking to establish a connection with the local citizens advice team with a view to running money awareness training and debt advice for those struggling with this burden. Also on the horizon is a partnership with the local NHS social prescribers to offer training on mental health awareness as we emerge from the pandemic. The charity is run by the trustees and volunteers with no paid workers. It will continue beyond the pandemic. It provides services for all ages to the local communities of Blidworth, Rainworth, Ravenshead and other local villages within Nottinghamshire. Blidworth – On the move support network works alongside the local Sherwood Forest Community Church to provide food support through an independent food aid scheme called Food Aid Blidworth. Funding has been received separately for this as well generous food donations from individuals and groups within the local community. In excess of 419 food parcels providing 2564 meals have been provided since the project started at the end of March 2020 up until 31[st] May 2021. In addition over 925 prescriptions were delivered by our volunteers between 30[th] March 2020 to 31[st] May 2021. Blidworth – On the move support network is registered for gift aid for all private donations to the charity. Our chairperson is Gillian Hagen and our trustees include representatives from the local church (Sherwood Forest Community Church), a local fire officer, as well representatives from local business.
