Trustee Report 2024
We had 10 children on the register at the beginning of the academic year September 2024 with 11 children on the register in July 2025 at the end of the academic year.
We had 1 E.A.L children on the register. (English as an additional language) and 1 child on the SEN register (Special Educational Needs).
We had a total of 9 permanent members of staff, with Sarah Owen and Lauren Humphries leaving us in November and Vicky & Alan Jones leaving in December. We had two regular cover staff and one regular volunteer.
Due to Vicky leaving in December, Alison took over from Deputy Manager to Manager from January 2025.
In September the Church informed us that once the renovations were finished and finalised, they did not want us to return to use the room, so we needed to look for new premises. We managed to source new premises and confirmed to staff at the beginning of November. We informed Parents in January that we would be moving but did not have a date. All paperwork was submitted, and we moved into our new home at the end of May 2025. As we were no longer at the church, we needed our name to change so Early Years@Natures Nook was born, as our new home is a little nook in the far end of the playground in Lache Primary school grounds, to which we are surrounded by nature, and have a marvellous outdoor area, although we do have our own entrance.
At the end of January, we had our Ofsted inspection, which we were able to publish to our parents and wider community in March.
We did lots of walks, we went to the library and Westminster Park.
We went to the local supermarket, for the children to buy the snack, they choose different items, and they used the self-service check outs. Then later in the year we visited Tesco in Chester where they took us to see where all the foods came into store and where it was stored, we also made Fruit Kebabs, we took the children on the bus to incorporate our capital culture.
We did lots of cooking activities. We celebrated science week and recycling week. We have celebrated lots of festivals and events during the school year, including Harvest and Saint days. We also celebrated Chinese New Year and Diwali to incorporate other cultures and beliefs.
We invited parents, carers and extended family in for Mother’s Day, with a cream tea event. We took part in Children in Need and World book day.
On our very last day in the setting, we invited all parents and carers in for a picnic lunch.
We enjoyed our yearly Christmas sing a long in church with a slight change where we the toddler’s group from the church joined us, as well as our annual Easter Bonnet parade.
