Trustee Report 2023 

We had 14 children on the register at the beginning of the academic year September 2022. With 26 children on the register in July 2023 at the end of the academic year. 

We had 2 E.A.L children on the register. (English as an additional language) and 1 child on the SEN register (Special Educational Needs). 

We had a total of 10 permanent members of staff, with Katie Willis leaving us in April after 10 years, and Maya Onions leaving us in May after 24 years. We have one regular cover staff and 1 regular volunteer. 

At preschool we have celebrated lots of festivals and events during the school year, including Harvest where we collected items and made-up hampers to take to the elderly in our community. We invited parents, carers and extended family in for mothers and Father’s Day, with a cream tea and biscuits and a brew event. 

We had a teddy bears picnic for the king’s coronation, and enjoyed football activities for the World cup, all of14 these things incorporate our British values, we also celebrated Chinese New Year and Diwali to incorporate other cultures and beliefs. 

We also covered lots of different weeks and days in preschool, including Pirate week, Road Safety week, international dance day and nurses day. 

We went on a bus for the first time with the children to incorporate our capital culture, and we invited the mountain rescue into preschool, which the children enjoyed. 

We enjoyed our yearly Christmas sing a long in church as well as our annual Easter Bonnet parade. 

We introduced a suggestion box into preschool for the staff and children to write any suggestions in. 

Vicky our manager has also gained the Elkan Accreditation for our setting this year.
