## **Report of the trustees for the year ending 31 December 2022** 

The Governors of Cambridge Centre for Education and Research present their annual report and accounts for the year ended 31 January 2023 and confirm they comply with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011, the trust deed and the Charities SORP (FRS 102). 

## **OUR AIMS** 

The charity was sealed by the Charity Commissioners for England and Wales on 15[th] December 2020, which included the regulations for appointment of trustees. 

The objects of charity are the advance education of the public in the UK and other countries. 

## **OUR OBJECTIVES** 

The objectives are: 

- a) providing student short term exchange programmes for UK university students or other learners to go to other countries in Asia, Europe and other Commonwealth countries, visiting foreign universities and learning about foreign culture and organising short-term exchange programmes for foreign university students or other learners to come to the UK, visiting universities and cultural centres, business establishments and other cultural activities; and 

- b) (i) conducting research in topics pertaining to the UK and Asia/Europe and dissemination of useful results for the public benefit. The Centre will specialise in multi-disciplinary research such as in the fields of anthropology, business, tourism, sustainability, economy, social and environment. 

   - (ii) to promote learning and academic activities by facilitating academics exchanges between the UK, Asia, Europe and other Commonwealth countries, including organising visiting programmes and conferences to develop individual capabilities, competences, skills and understanding of issues affecting academics and to ensure fulfilment of students' intellectual potential in the UK, Asia, Europe and other Commonwealth countries. 

   - (iii) facilitating collaborative work between British and Asian/European/ Commonwealth countries’ universities to advance understanding in the areas of logistics, anthropology, business and engineering. 

## **REVIEW OF ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS** 

This is the second year of running the charity, many visiting activities were conducted across the year between Cambridge and London, including the university and educational engagement with universities in Cambridge, universities in London and educational agency. Student research was conducted online and offline. 

Administratively, we have completed several trustees’ strategy meetings; in addition, website and emails were built and ran. 



## **FUTURE PLANS** 

The future plan includes: 

- 1) Continuously conduct research within University of Cambridge academic community; 

- 2) Further produce some research publications; 

- 3) Attending some seminars in the UK or overseas; 

- 4) Design some programme or project; 

- 5) Plan and visit some EU/Asian/ other Commonwealth countries to initiate potential collaborations or projects 

## **STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT** 

The Governors, who are also the charity trustees, are responsible for the overall management and control of the Charity and meet at least twice per year offline and online. All trustees give of their time freely.

The net incoming resources include for the year was 0 and expenses was 4,572.
