Governance
Trustees are appointed to I￿t by members at the Awl General Meeting. Tnjstees senft up to 2
terms of 3 years. A scheme of rotstion exists to ensure continuity of leadership while alk)wing for the
board to be refreshed. The board will co￿pt new Tntstees as and when reqw'red during the year. and
their apF)ointment referred to the subsequentAGM kn confimwlion.
The Trustees confim that t￿￿V have complied with the requirements of sedion 4 of the Charities Act
2011 to have due regard to the public benefft guida￿e published by the Charity Commission for

Objectives
The group provides therapeutic h(x*riding opport￿ltieS for children wtth special educational
needs from a special needs xhool. during term time. The children have conditions that include
ADHD and Autr"sm. and the aim of our group 15 to enjoymenL leaming opportunities,
improvements in Con￿ntration and Confider￿e.
Activities
Our primary adivities are weekty ridIr￿ sessions for the children during temi time at the RDA
National Training Centre, Shrewley. The sessions in￿>￿e learning to mount. control and steer the
equines. Progression is in the fomi of troth.ng and ridi￿ independently. The rider5 also have the
opportunity to ride the mechanical horse which aids their balan￿ and enhances their enjoyment. At
the end of the academic sEar the fiders particip*e in a FUD Day *there sh(M vthat they habe
learnt and comp*ts against riders frorn other RDA Gr￿p5.

During the year we had 19 partitipaftts. all under tl* age of 11 ￿ar5 old. The sessions were
delivered by 2 coache5 and 19 volunteers supported the thiklren to get the m05t from the
experience of being in a different environment. talking to our %￿unteers. learning new skills and
gaining in confide￿e. With encour4ement fTom ￿ tearn. ￿ group irnproved their Confi'den￿ and
con¢entrotion. imprty1￿ core strerwhs and en￿ed in an that wou5d vM)t normally be
available to them, thereby achieving our objecti¥es. The feedback from the school was very positive
in that the child￿￿,$ behaviour impro¥ed and led to numerous con4ersations al￿ what they had
learnt and done during the lesson.
At Fun Day. the (hildren were able to compete aga*nst riders from othergroups arKI received many
rosettes in recognition of their athie¥ements.
Safeguarding
The charity ha5 a safeguardinB policy. in line with RDA UK. and a Safeguarding ofter. Disclosure and
Barring Service checks are undertaken ￿ all volunteers and coathe5. and these are reviewed or
renewed every three >tars. Coathes are required to complete safeguarding training provided by RDA
UK. and most of ¥vlunteers also tsken part in the Sa￿ training. The Coach ènd Group
Coath are both up to date with their safeguarding and coaching training reviews. which take place
every three year5.
Financial Review
The totsl i￿orne for finaKial ￿arWa$ £3059
£2.459 was unrestricted funding from donatfons and fTom a fundTrisin8 event. Restricted funds of
£6CKJ were donated by volunteers to cover their first atd training.
The totsl expenditure for the financial year was £3.
£3,080 was unrestricted expendrture and £61XI was restrirted fvndiTrg for the first aid training course.
The trustees of the charity ackrKMledge that should the reser4es fall below £I.(K￿ then it would not
continue to offer riding lesson5 to the children frorn a local Special needs school. Lapworth Group
RDA do not own any equines or proF*rty. and our main expenditure relates to an annual
membership of the Riding for the Disabled Associkn UK: an annual insurance payment and the
hire of equi￿$ and the arena where the ridiF¥d lessons tske pla￿.
