The Trustees present their ieport and accounts for the year ended 5 April 2022.
The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies sel out In note 1 to the
accounts and comply with the charity's governing documer¢l, the Charities AGt 2011 and the Statement
of Recommended Practice, "Accounting and Reporting by Charities., issued in October 2019.

The charity was registered with the Charity Commission on 9 DeGember 2020. The chaflty's
goveming document was adopted on 1 December 2020.

Objectivos and a¢tlvitios
The Charity's objectives are to advance the education of pupils of Ighlham Primary School, In
particular by developing effective relationships beiwaen stsff. parents and others associated with the
school and engaging in activities or providing fa¢ililles or equipment which support the school and
advance the eduCat￿n of Ihe pupils.
The trustees have pald due regard lo guidance issued by the Charity Commission in decidlng what
a¢livilies the Charity should undertake. The trustees have met regularly over the course of this first
nancial period. Roughly once every 6- 8 weeks.
The trustees successfulty applied for Charity Status in December 2020. All tnjslees were sent and
read the Charity Commission Welco￿￿ pack and we spent some time considering our legal
obligations with the help of government guidance.
The Charlty became a member of Parent tQnd in December 2020 and the Charity adopted their model
constitution and was then able lo make the most of the guidance and support offered by the
organisalion.
Trustees have always considered very carefully how best lo spend the Charity's funds lo make sure
that spending ￿￿etS the agreed objective set out in the conslitulion. The Charity is also gtsided by the
Head Teacher and govemors of the sGhool.
Achlevements and performance
The net inGome for the year of £45.3k was received from donations.
The main donations to Ightham Primary School (the 'School'l during the year consisted of £5k for
Senco cover and £0.9k for a Family Liaison Officer.
Although the Charity was officlally reglstered in December 2020, it took a bil of time lo open a bank
account. wrth success in May 2021.
Pledges of donations had been made in D@cember 2020, however, our first donations were received
in July 2021.

The trustees had spent a lot of tiry* discusslon the appointment of a Family Liaison OffiTrr (FLO}.
Teach8rs had been spending a large proportion of their lime attending to pastoral care of their pupils
and supporting their families through the difficulties of the pandemic. Having a FLO in place would
mean teachers could refocus on teaching whilst pupils and their families were better placed lo learn
and supwrt learning. The FLO came on board in May 2021, S¢hool funded this appointment until
fund5 were made available by the Charity. The Head Teacher reports the FLO has been 'worth her
weight in gold,.
The Irusloe5 continue to consider other projects that might be beneficial such as developing the spaa8
above the main school hall and looking into ground Source heat pumps to replace ageing boilers.
However, after consultation with professionals, investigation Into these projects suggested they would
not be the most cost-effeclive way of spending funds.
The trustees have decided instead to fijnd a caretaker apprentice to build capacity in this essential
area of the School team.

TO THE TRUSTEES OF IGHTHAM PARENT SCHOOL ASSOCIATION
I report on the accounts of the Trust for the year ended 5 April 2022, which are sel out on pages 6 to
R8sponslbllitios and ba818 of report
As the chanty's Iruslees, you are responsible for the preparatlon of the accounts in accordance with
the requirements of the Charities Act 20111"Ihe Acf'l and consider that an audit is not required for thls
year under section 144(21 of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent
examination is needed.
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under Sectic￿ 145 of the 2011
Act and in Carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Dlrections given by the
Charlty Commission under seGtion 145151(b) of the Act.
An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the TrLtrSt and a compaTÉson of the
accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual rtems or
disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such
mallers. The procedures undertaken do not provide 811 the evidence Ihal would be re4uired in an
audit and consequently no opinion is given as lo whether the accounts present a 'lrue and fair view,
and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
Indèpendent examinoT'S Statement
I have completed my examinats'on. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in
connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in. any material respect..
the accountlng records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act,. or
the accounts did not accord with the accounting recoids., or
the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and conlenl
of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounls and Reports) Regulations 2008 tsther than any
requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair, view which is not a matter considered as
part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connect¢on with the examination to
which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the
accounts to be reached

1.1 Basis of preparatlon
The accounts have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis as permitted under section
133 of the Charities Act 2011.
The accounts have been p￿pared in accordance with applicable accounting standards, the
Statement of Recommended Pr*icé, °Accounting and RekX)rting by Charities issued October
2019 and the 2011 Act.
