Activities

The Kurikindi Foundation aims to support and work in collaboration and participation with indigenous global communities in developing initiatives for people living in the Amazon rainforest. These will be primarily in education, health, citizenship and community development, sustainable living and protection of the rainforest. The foundation operates in Ecuador.

Objects: (1) To Promote Sustainable Development For The Benefit Of The Public By: (A) The Preservation, Conservation And The Protection Of The Environment And Theprudent Use Of Resources; (B) The Relief Of Poverty And The Improvement Of The Conditions Of Life In Socially Andeconomically Disadvantaged Communities; (C) The Promotion Of Sustainable Means Of Achieving Economic Growth Andregeneration. Sustainable Development Which Addresses The Needs Of The Present Communitieswithout Compromising The Ability Of Future Generations To Meet Their Own Needs. (2) To Advance The Education Of Disadvantaged And Wider Global Communities, Insubjects Related To Sustainable Development And The Protection, Enhancement Andrehabilitation Of The Environment. To Promote A Platform Of Exchange, Study Andresearch In Such Subjects Provided That The Useful Results Of Such Studies Aredisseminated To The Public At Large.(3) To Promote For The Public Benefit The Human Rights Of Indigenous People (As Set Outin The Universal Declaration Of Human Rights And Subsequent United Nationsconventions And Declarations Including Ilo Conventions 107 And 169 By All Or Any Ofthe Following Means: - Obtaining Redress For The Victims Of Human Rights Abuse;- Relieving Need Among The Victims Of Human Rights Abuse;- Research Into Human Rights Issues;- Providing Technical Advice To Government And Others On Human Rights Matters;- Contributing To The Sound Administration Of Human Rights Law;- Raising Awareness Of Human Rights Issues;- Promoting Public Support For Human Rights. In Furtherance Of That Object But Not Otherwise, The Trustees Shall Have Power To Engage In Political Activity Provided That The Trustees Are Satisfied That The Proposedactivities Will Further The Purposes Of The Charity To An Extent Justified By The Resourcescommitted And The Activity Is Not The Dominant Means By Which The Charity Carries Out Itsobjects.
