In setting objectives and plannlng activities. the trustees have glven due consideration to the Charlty
Commission's 8eneral guidance on public benefit and in particular, to its supplementary public benefft
guldance on the relief of those in need. by reason of ill-healih or other disadvantage {physical
disfigurementl.
The charity's day-to-dayoperation5 are managed by a Chief Executive, who is SUPPOrted by 4 members
of statr. Support Pathway Practitioner, Finance Officer and Fundraisin8 & Communicatlons offi￿r.
With the grovrth of the charlty, a Charity Administrator was appointed to support the team.
The charity has a core group of volunteers who assist the 5tsff in deliverlng our sUPPOrt, fundraising
and communlcatlons strategy.

The support contact team has contlnued to offer re8ional support to members across the UK. We
have 24 support contscts based around the UK.
Hosted our annual tralnin8 and Information day for ourvolunteer support contact team. The trainln8
day provlded an opportunity for our sUPPOrt contacts to leam more about the CMN research, to hear
about charity developments, to partlcipate in support tralnln8 dellvered by a professional counsellor,
and to share their experiences of providin8 SUPPOrt to members. A lar8e proportion of the day was
focused on EDI training for our volunteer team.
Developed our sUPPOrt literature library by producin8 a CMN awareness card for those affected by
CMN to give to people in thelr community.
Designed and produced our annual support magazine entltled INSPIRE. The ma8azine Is sent to all
charity members and Includes support advice, fundraising Stories. charity news and researth updates.
Provided fundin8 to advance the dedi&ited CMN research at Great Omond Street Hospltal, which has
made huge headway Into understanding the causes of CMN, and now working towards a C￿￿.

Continued to provide parents of a new-born baby affected by CMN the opportunity to book an inltlal
hour-lon8 SUPPOrt con5ultstion with the charitls Support Pathway Practltloner. The consultation
glves parents an invaluable opportunlty to receive immediate advice. 5UPPOrt and reassuran￿.
Parents can book a support consultation by efther emailing the charity or by calling our dedlcated
Support Helpline.
Launched our third 'how do you C Me Now?, personal story documentary video, whlch can be vlewed
on our social media platforms, website and YouTube channel.
Exhibited the 'how do you C Me Now?. series of portralts at the Brft15h A550ciatlon of Dermatologlsts
annual meetlng. During the 3-day meetin& 121)> demiatolo8iSts viewed the exhibitlon. and the
feedback was extremely posltlve.
Developed our fundralsln8 Strategy by providi￿ a host of opportuntties for members and supporters
to raise funds for Caring Matters Now. As part of our strategy. we presented the annual Jessica Ma
Award to recognise our top fundraisers for 2023.
Increased and malntalned merchandise ran8e to assist wilh bulklln8 brand awareness and to ralse
addltlonal funds.
Participated in the Rare Dtseases Dwi Feb 2024 to ralse the proftle of CMN.
Produced new Pollcies and Procedures, as well as revlewln8 current pollcles and procedures.
Expanded our staff team by an addltlonal part-llme staff member to support admlnlstration•l tasks,
alongside expanding our key volunteers, team whh an addltEonal 3 new volunteer5 providln8
support across the UK.

The Charlty spend51ts funds very carefully and always in accordance wlth relevant charity rules and
le8islatlon to support its 3 clear charitable alm5,' to support those affected by CMN, to fund CMN
research, and lo ralse awareness about CMN.
Support- We have provided finances for supportlng those affected by CMN. Thls Includlng fvndlnB
in-person and online sUPPOrt events alor8 with printed support materlal.
Awareness - We have funded awareness campaigns to raise the profile of CMN on a global Scale, as
well as attendin8 natlonal medical conferences to educate d¢xtors. nurses and midwives about CMN.
Resear¢h-Through grants recerved and research donations, we have been •ble to fuvMI the ploneerlng
research undertaken by Professor Kinsler and her team.
The charity does not invest funds outside of the Th)mial banking facilitie5. The trustees revlewfinanclal
requirements and in doing 50. areas of actlvSty. fvnding sources, future needs, opportunities,
contingencies. and risks are all duly considered.
