3. Structure, Governance and Management

Little Beam Foundation is a registered charity run by a set of trustees. Decisions are made at trustee meetings which are held monthly. Trustee recruitment is completed through application, and the trustees seek those with skills that will strengthen the groups.

The Little Beam Foundation has a constitution which can be found on the Charity Commission website.

4. Objectives and Activities

To advance in life and help young people through: (a) The provision of recreational and leisure time activities provided in the interest of social welfare, designed to improve their conditions of life; (b) Providing support and activities which develop their skills, capacities, and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals.

5. Achievements and Performance

Little Beam Foundation continues to offer experiences and activities for young people desired to improve their conditions of life. Activities offered this financial year including (but not limited to) horse riding, music lessons, sensory sessions, outdoor learning opportunities and more.

This allowed for young people to develop their skills on an equitable basis and met the objectives of our charity.

6. Financial Review

Overview: Little Beam Foundation’s accounts remain in a healthy position with the charity run solely by volunteers.
Income: Little Beam Foundation’s income is mainly down to donations and fundraising. We receive some smaller grants from local supporters.
Expenditure: Most expenditure is on charitable activities. Some expenditure goes towards fundraising, but this is always made back in income from fundraising.
Reserves Policy: We do not have sufficient funds for a reserves policy.

7. Risk Management

The main risk within the charity is the amount of demand vs the funds we have. As a charity, we have discussed the need for a CEO that can drive the charity in a stronger direction that we can as volunteers.

8. Plans for Future Periods

To appoint a CEO to drive the charity and expand where possible.

The trustees are responsible for ensuring the charity keeps proper accounting records, prepares financial statements, and adheres to relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
