Trustee report 1 Nov 22- 31 Dec 23 Tees Valley Buddies Charity number: 109-111 Parliament Road, Middlesbrough, TS1 4JE Trustees: Chair: Chelle Waddington-Smyth Kim May During November 22 - Dec 23, Tees Valley Buddies continued to provide regular activities that promote peer support and lived experience with neurodivergence. A weekly walk and talk was highly attended along with a card and board games group. Occasional wellbeing sessions were trialled to promote improved mental health among neurodivergent adults. February 23 Annemarie Head resigned as CEO proceeded by Chelle Waddington. Until Aug 23 the charity could not gain access to the organisation’s bank account. Efforts to provide improved structure were prioritised alongside the refocus of the support provided to build a community and create a welcoming space for neurodivergent people. This saw an increase in membership, friendships developed and more regular attendance within activities. It also allowed more interest in volunteering from those that saw the value and benefit from the support the charity provides. A total of £288 was received through donations including Middlesbrough lottery and Amazon Smile. Some funds were used for volunteer expenses and group activities such as the celebration of 3 years as a charity where members and volunteers played a game of Crazy golf and had a sunday dinner. Other group activities included wellbeing sessions and board games. The aim of the year was to provide an accommodating structure for our neurodivergent volunteers and build upon the peer support and sense of community that is vital for the success of the charity. **----- Start of picture text -----**
