solely due to the Covid Pandemic, during our
formative period.
Applications to Charity Commission, for a bank
account, and to HMRC were all subject to delays.
Many banks stopped providing charity and/or
community accounts during the Covid period. A
few started accepting applications again in 2021,
but most demanded attendance in person for ID
checks. Finally, we were able to register with
Virgin Money using remote, digital identification
and verification, in February 2022.
It did, however, then take a further 7 months to
register with HMRC for Gift Aid, which was
eventuallycompleted on August 15th2022.|
