The Patron of the Friends is Sir Michael Palin. The activities of the charity are fundrdising by membetship subscription, events, grdnt applicats'ons, and generdl donations. In planning theiT activities for the year, the Trustees have considered the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit. Achievements ond Performonce The friends were constituted as a Charttsble Incorporated Organlsation on 20 November 2020 The Friends was constituted as a Charftable Incorporated Organisation on 20 November 2020 by adopting the Charity Commls5ion'5 'Foundation Model, model goveming document. It was regISted at the Charity Commission on 24 November 2020. The Parish was without an Incumbent for nine months after the Reverend Carol 8arrert Ford mved to new parish, no new initiatives were undertak£n during the year. The Trustees would li to thank the late Martln Rainsford, the Reverend Carol Barrett Fofd and forn*r Friends Secretary Dr Alun Ford for their work on behalf of the Friends of St Martin's Gospel Oak. In September 2024 The Revend Mathn Andrew Kwapong, the new Incumbent of St Martin's Gospel Oak, became ex oflicio chair of the charity. Flnaftclal Revlew The charity generated a surplus of £50.71 in the year to 31 December 2024. Total income was £100.71 Total expenditure was £60. Operating expenses consisted only of banking fees. The Trustees have not considered it necessary to set a formal level of reserve which the Charity Is required to maintain. The level of grant expenditure is entirely at the discretion of the Trustees and is set with reference to annual incorre. The nature of the Charitvs activities is such that was Possible to maintain sufficient funds in the bank to meet any liabilities as they fell due. The Trustee5 have considered the risks inherent in the Charity and tsken steps to minimise such risk. Income is only recognised when it Is received and accordingly further income may be due to the
Charfty and such income be accounted for in future year5 if and when it Is received. Structure ond Governance The Charity is govemed by a governing document dated 20 February 2020. It Is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation registered with the Charfty Commission In England and Wales Ino. 11925181. The Incumbent of St Martin's Gospel Oak is ex officio chair of the Parochial Church Council. The management and finance of the I0 organi5ations are, however, entr'rely separate. In 2024 Mr Martin Rainsford a Churchwarden of St Martin's Gospel Oak was an ex officio memberof the PCC. The Tnjstees are responsible under the provisions of the Charity Act 2011 for the pParatiOn of accounts for each financial year that give a true and fair view of the stste of affairs of the Friends and of its income and expenditure for the year.
