Mary Ward Loreto UK Trustees Report 1[st] January 2022 – 31[st] December 2022 ## Objects The Objects for which the charity is established for the benefits of the public are to promote the eradication of human trafficking throughout the world, by tackling its causes and effects in such ways as are exclusively charitable in England and Wales. It is set up to develop a specific British presence. To establish on-the-ground services in the UK combatting human trafficking, consequent on cross border work between Britian and Albania already being undertaken by the Mary Ward Loreto Foundation NGO registered in Albania. ## Benefts To reduce the number of victims being trafficked into the UK from Albania. To increase awareness within the UK of the comprehensive prevention, protection, counselling and recovery work being done by the Mary Ward Loreto Foundation in Albania. Highlighting its positive and contributory function, significantly shifting UK perceptions of Albania solely as a major source of international trafficking crime. To support research into relevant aspects of human trafficking and modern slavery in Albania. ## Activities Fund-raising for anti-trafficking work by the Mary Ward Loreto Foundation in Albania. Change of name of the charity from Anti-Modern Slavery Alliance (AMSA) to Mary Ward Loreto UK Re-launch of the charity under its new name. Recruitment of new trustees. Recruitment of Patrons. Development of new website Development of a network of friends and supporters.
