charity is also supported by volunteers, for
example in litter picking, removing Himalayan

Also, Park users report their concerns to
Friends of Bournville Park and Birmingham City
Council.
Tennis for Free sessions have been supported
by volunteers throughout the year.

From March to November 2024, we ran Sunday
morning sessions under the Tennis for Free
Programme, supported by coaches from
Weoley Hill Tennis Club (one a Trustee),
another LTA-trained Trustee, and our
volunteers. Over the whole period, we had
approximately 600 people attend these
sessions.
Weekly Tai Chi sessions take place in the Park,
with a total of 588 attendees over the year.
The charity ran a one-week Summer Event in
August with activities including cycling training,
multi-sports including football, extra tennis
coaching sessions, storytelling and a duck race.
2. Education
Using existing funding, Forest School sessions
continue. There were 11 community sessions
funded by the charity. These complement the
sessions organised and paid for by Bournville
Village Primary School. To secure the future of
Forest School, 24 sessions were purchased for
2025.|
Grants from Awards for All and Heart of England were used for detached youth work and the Summer Event. 3. Park improvement The heavily used Tennis Courts were refurbished, primarily funded by the Lawn Tennis Association. Two kind donations meant that a ‘memory’ tree could be placed in the Park. 4. Promotion Social media presence has been maintained and is heavily used. A newsletter is issued to members of the charity after each Trustees’ meeting. It describes recent actions and decisions, and provides insights into the thinking of the Trustees. These activities meet the objectives of the charity.

In this financial year, a major grant was

support free Tai Chi in the Park for two years.
Unrestricted funding was granted by the
William A Cadbury charity. Residual funds from
grants awarded to the charity by Awards for All
and Heart of England were used to fund the
Summer Event.
Funds were donated by the family of a Trustee
towards a ‘memory’ tree. This was recently
planted in the Park.|
