sessions under the Tennis for Free Programme, supported by
coaches from Weoley Hill Tennis Club and our volunteers. Over
the whole period, we had 525 people attend these sessions.
Weekly Tai Chi sessions take place in the Park.
2. Education
Using existing funding, Forest School sessions have been held in
conjunction with Bournville Village Primary School.
A grant from Awards for All was used for Youth Work.
Tree survey and stream sampling for children, run by a trustee.
3. Park improvement
Commonwealth Games 2022 Community Funding from last year
was used to repair a heritage hut in the Park, led by the local Park
Ranger.
Led by trustees, volunteers removed Himalayan Balsam from the
stream in the Park and planted donated snowdrop bulbs.
Part funding from the Commonwealth Games 2022 Community
Fund for an accessible picnic table has allowed this to proceed.
There have been several sessions of litter picking.
4. Bournville Commonwealth Games Festival
This week long event involved sporting activities for
children and their families, led by trustees and volunteers:
football, hockey, tennis, table tennis, crown green bowls and
chess. There were also led bike rides and cycle training,
storytelling by the local bookstore, Morris dancing, and a family
picnic and silent disco organised by the local primary school PTA.
5. Promotion
Social media presence maintained and improved.

|||Friends of Bournville Park funds will be held in its bank account until
needed.
Funds awarded through grants and awards for designated purposes
(“restricted funds”) will be held to be used for those purposes only.
General funds will be held in the bank account until the Trustees or
designated CIO officer(s) agree on any expenditure.
The Treasurer will provide detailed monthly accounts showing which
funds are available to spend under each heading, with one heading for
each grant or award and one for general funds.
Other than ring-fenced restricted funds, the charity does not decide on an
appropriate level of reserves, as activities are undertaken only as can be
afforded within remaining unrestricted funds.|

The charity’s principal sources of funds are grants and awards. Expenditure on each grant is always in support of the objects of the charity. Payments are not made to trustees or volunteers.
In this financial year, a major grant was awarded by the Commonwealth Games 2022 Community Fund for the Bournville Commonwealth Games Festival. Birmingham City Council awarded us funds to continue support of Tai Chi in the Park
- how expenditure has supported the key objectives of the charity;
- investment policy and objectives including any ethical investment policy adopted.

The charity has a small amount of non-financial assets such as gazebos for events, lighting for the hut, litter pickers, and gardening equipment. Bournville Commonwealth Games Festival funding has left a legacy of sporting equipment for the charity and silent disco equipment for the local primary school.
