Activities during the reporting period. Once again Mike Manning and Wendy Fabian have shared the Chair role and we are gJrateful to.. Ann Shaw t-or managings the bookings and running ihe coffee momings. Pam Turner for her continued role as secretarv. Chris Fems a8 ircasurcr. Mike Manning. Chris Ferns and Guy. Cook tor maintenaiiee. Wendy Fabian tor keeping the hall LleaD and all committee members and others for making all the tundraising ei'ents possible. We are pleased that some groups continue to use the hall on a regular basis. but w¢re sorry to lose the Wl when ihe branLh 'aS WOLind up. The pop-up-piib reinained popular, with a i.'ariety of food ot7erings. Sadly, the mobile shop ceased lo opcrate H,hen the ladies w'ho ran it found other commitments became too great. However. Ihe col'lee morning conlinued to proN'ide a meeting point for our older inhabitants. In August we held a village picnic in the grounds of the Old Viearagc by kind invitation of Anne and Ross Stewart. The weather was kind and villagers enjoyed a barbecue. background music and a pleasant afternoon. Also in Au&Jusi M'e would like lo thank Elaini, Perrs, tor organi7.ing a Wine Walk in aid of the Village Hall. Thi5 was such a success thal i( was deLided to make il an annual event. Chrislmas lunch in December was. as usual. a very popular event and tully booked well in adi'ance. The pop and general knoivledge quizzes earl}, in the year were algo well 5UPPOrted. Skitiles Inalches against our neighbouring, parish ol. Pauniley hai'e become a regular feature and in March we M'ere happy to win. In Mav tNN'o of our Trustees gardens opened informally for villa&sers to enjoy both the gardens and the excellent refreshrnents . Wc are delighted to report that thé ntm. Lease trom Upleadon PCC was tinally granied on the 2nd ol'April 2025. We hope lo be able us l() slart our programme of updating and improving the hall as soon (Is sufficient funds can b¢ raised. HO.el.er costs have risen considerably while negoiiations have been continuing and are no.. Seeking grant tunding to supplement what
our small communitv can raise. The committee would like to thank all Ihe villagers who help the hall in any way and, in particular. Ross Stewart for culling the verge and hedge. We hope as many people as possible will continue to support us and would welcome new Trustees. Financial Review The linancial J'ear ending 30th June ?025 resulted in a loss ot £1.258.83. This was due to legal fees wilh regard to the neiv Lease. This compared to a surplus (profit) last tinancial year ot £2.059.75. The funds held ai ihe yearend Mere £18.807.69. Income increased Lompared to the prei'ious year bul unfortunately so did expenditure due to a large tinal electricity bill when we changed supplier and general increases in all running expenses. The new lease allows us to plan for esseniial maintenance and improi'ements to the hall. This will not only use up a large chunk ot.the tunds held but will require the raising ot" substanlial further tunds both through our el'lorts and through seeking grant t"unding. All trustees are volunteers. MeetingJs are held on a reb7ular ba515.
