Activities
The main aeliviiies are raising funds lo maintain the hall through (I 100 club and other activities,
arranging various events to tullil the above airns t-or public benetit as aboi'e while encouraging
use by other local groups. The trustees have regard for the Charily Commission's guidancc on
public benefit.
Activities during the reporting period.
Following ihe agreement from the Charity Commission Ihal the CIO Could be tornied a short
meeting7 was held on 9, Dec 2020 when the CIO lormally agreed in principle to accept the
transfer of asseis trom our predecessor charity Upleadon Church Hall No 10903077. One of the
tirsi ¢onsidet3tions was io make arrangements for ihe transfer of bank accounts. The bank
decreed that we had to open a new and different kind of account, but talled to inform us of this
resulting in conversations at cross purposes and delays, all not helped by Covid restrictions and
the pressure these put on the banking system. As a result the account was not opened until after
Ihis accounting period and the CIO was unable to tske over the day to day running of the hall
Irom the existing Charity.
As the Irustees of the two charities were the same the CIO was a,are of and in agreement with
actions taken during ihis period. For much of the period the hall was closed due to Covid .
meelingJs ot. the Trustees being held 'la Zoom or in person when this was petTnitted. Th¢
opportunity was taken to have th¢ hall redccoraied. install new blinds, clean and retrame
pictures. ret-urbish chairs and undertake some repairs in the men s toilets. so that the hall was a
pleasant and welcoming venue once re-opening was pemiitted. The Trusiees also adopted a new
sateguarding policy and reviewed other policy documents as well as ensuring that the hall was
compliant with Covid regulations once il was able to re-open. However use was restricted as it
was decided that il was too ditlicult to enforce social distancing.. mask wearings and non-
mixing of groups at social occasions such as coftee mornings. Discussions with the PCC over
Ihe renewal 0£. the l¢as¢ w¢r¢ ongoing throughout the period
Externally the hedge and verge were managed in accordance with the 1981 Wildlite and
Countrysid¢ Act. and we were pleased to se¢ an Orchid appearing in the N'erge. The mobile fish
and chip van continued to provide a service to the village from the Village Hall car park once a
month
Financial Review
As not¢d aboN'e the CIO had no lunds during this period. We were however aware thai Ihe
prcdecessor Charity had ample funds and had agreed to reserve £5000.00 towards future
improvements such as re-roofing and improving insulation.

The hall is run by the trustees who are draM'n from inhabitants ot- the parish. All twslees are
volunteers. Meetings are held on a regular basis and an open annual meeting is held in
Sepiember lo report lo the community. In addition parishioners are kept infonrted through the
parish magazine. web-page and a village e-mail group for those who have signed up to this.
