Activities - how the charity spends its money
Ceylon Cricket Foundation helps with provision of facilities, accessories and equipment and coaching programmes in the local community to support the dreams of underprivileged Children in Sri Lanka. This will enable these young Sri Lankan cricketers to turn their dreams into reality; finding those hidden talents and giving them the chance to play, prosper in the game they love.
Charitable objects
For the public benefit, the organisation and/or provision of facilities, accessories and coaching which will enable young people to play cricket in Sri Lanka. The provision of facilities and programmes in the local community to support the dreams of young Sri Lankan cricketers into reality; Finding those hidden talents and giving them the chance to play, prosper and follow their dreams.

Review of activities
As a foundation we do a variety of activities to raise awareness of what we do, and we have a variety of ways of fundraising. We have had a bit of a slump in our work this year and not raised as much as normal. Below shows the fundraising we did during the 2022 period in accordance with our charity objectives and activities… But also an overview of what we want to achieve and do more of in the future.
*Curry Nights
Curry nights are when we go into cricket clubs and bring a taste of Sri Lanka with variety of rice’s, curries and small eats. We hold raffles on the night with a variety of prizes. This year has saw us hold events at…

*Kit Donations
Kit Donations happen on an individuals, school and club bases where they donate to the charity their old equipment, in which we then ship across to Sri Lanka and distribute to schools around the island. This is one of our main activities which helps us in Sri Lanka help as many schools as possible.
Just to name a few of our kind donors…
Colts Cricket Club Warwickshire County Cricket Club Yorkshire County Cricket Club Water Orton Cricket Club Pickering Cricket Club Heworth Cricket Club Bear Cricket QEGS in Wakefield And all our individual supports donating their own kit at the end of the season
We also have professional cricketers that kindly donate their unused cricket equipment such as Jow Root and one of our ambassadors Lauren Winfield-Hill donate.
*Fundraising
As a foundation we do a variety of fundraising to help raise funds, with our most expensive expenditure being the shipment of equipment to Sri Lanka. This year has seen us do a variety of different fundraisers…

*Coaching Programme
The foundations coaching programme is about sending foreign coaches out to Sri Lanka, they volunteer in schools around the island sharing their knowledge and experience. The school look after the coaches (by organising accommodation, activities, food & drink).
This year saw several volunteer coaches visiting Sri Lanka and travelling to different schools to coach and donate their kit and time to them
Volunteers & Trustees
The charity has not changed much. The trustees are the same and the current active volunteers are Haydon Jackson and Katy Hen-Boisen
Future & Development Plans 2023/24
Following a development meeting between the trustees, we are planning on recruiting new members of the committee and volunteers including donation cricket clubs and also volunteers to help with events for fundraising

Trustees' Report for the year ended 31 December 2022
The trustees present their report and the financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2022 . The board of trustees are satisfied with the performance of the charity during the year and position at 31 December 2022 and consider that the charity is in a strong position to continue its objectives during the coming year, and that the charity assets are adequate to fulfil its obligations.

Statements of the trustees for the year ended 31 December 2022.
The charities Act require the Board of Trustees to prepare financial statements for each year which gives a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity as at the end of the financial year and of the surplus or deficit of the charity. In preparing those financial statements the Board is required to:

Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently;

make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; and

prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that he charity will continue in business.

state whether applicable accounting standards and statements of recommended practice have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements;
The trustees are also responsible for maintaining adequate accounting records, disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and which are sufficient to show and explain the charity's transaction.
They are responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities that, on the face of the report there are no inconsistencies with the figures disclosed in the report.
This report is approved by the board of trustees on 16[th] September 2024.

Respective responsibilities of the Trustees and Examiner
The trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The trustees consider than an audit is not required for the year.
It is my responsibility to :-
Examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act; follow the procedures laid down in the general directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145)5)(b) of the 2011 Act); and state whether particular matters have come to my attention
Basis of independent examiners report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a "true and fair view" and the report is therefore limited.
Independent examiner's statement
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

1. Accounting basis
The financial statements of the charity, which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102, have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 102) 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2015)', Financial Reporting Standard 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland' and the Charities Act 2011. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.
