## Report from the chair and CEO 

Shining Nyota is an organisation which is dedicated to empower migrants women of African descent in England and Wales and rural women in the Democratic Republic of Congo. 

## Programs 

## and Impact 

Our mission is to reduce poverty by investing in women of African descent living in poverty in England and Wales and in rural women of the DRC: 

## In Year 2022-2023 

We empowered women to take actions - we focused more on spreading the word. 

## Year 2022-2023 in England and Wales 

- We spread the word in a big way 

- Women beneficiaries increased by 20% 

- We gave talk and organised small events including fundraising 

- We helped new women to registry with GP, start university and colleagues, refereed to local authorities for housing and other services. 

## Year 2022-2023 in England and Wales 

- We also spread word to men 

- Eight men have registered with us 

- We helped our first two elderly men living in total poverty in London to claim for disability, pension and housing repairs from local authorities 





## Year 2023 in the DRC 

- We focused our programmes to advocate for women full participation in all aspects of rural life including the right to own a land, to fill the gap, eradicate violence against rural women. Congo women protested and raised the voices. No many activities in terms of tools to work in field by lack of fundings. 


## Year 2023 in DRC 

We focus on building new projects for 2025, 2026 & 2028: 

- Projects to raise enough money to help small-scale women farmers increase their crop yields, to build energy efficient stove, own land and have access to small loans

## Futures goals and Impact 

- Shining Nyota Foundation has made a huge difference and impact on communities of women we serve. 

- We want expand our empowernment programmes to a larger audience and groups including rural teenagers of the DRC We want to collaborate with other women’ charities and government agencies both in England and the DRC - to advocate for strong women policies and regulations. 

- Develop and seek esources and matierials that will help us filfull the organisation programmes needs and wants.
