The Apple juicing and Plant sale were rnore profitable than last For the Queen's Platinum Jubilee we put on a BBQfor the community. This was funded by a £250 donation from the Communitrf Council and oroceeds from the plant sale. As the weather was inclement, we held it in the hall with the 3BQ on the patio under gazebos. It was very well attended. The bookings for the School House were down on last year and back to pre- cowid level. To help improve bookinRs we have installed broadband. This has been possible because Openreach brought fibre to the village. So far this year rjookings are up. Improvements made in the year were repairing path by hall, tarmacking an apron outside the School House and fith.ng new gates. The hall took part in the scheme "Keep Warm Keep Well" by providing a warm space with refreshments one morning a month. In 2021 we had the paving slabs on the path to hall replaced with tarmac. This job was not done to the proper standard and the companv a£reed it needee replacing but would not commit to a date to do it. We made a claim to the Small Claims Court for re-imbursement but unfortunatelv. we have been unable to recover the money. The company ignored all the letters we and the court sent. The court found in our favour and a County Court Judgement was made against the company. The bailiffs could not find anyone connected to the company at the addresses we had.
