Activities
MosaiL Voices is in its fourth year as a regjistered charity. and that period included delivery of
live %acred 8ervices at lea%1 once per week al its home synagogTue. the historic New Wesi End
Synagyogue in Bayswater. l.ondon. These included ihe Hi¥Jh Holvday ser%'icL'S for J¢wish New
Year Day of AtonemLnl services, ￿'hICh reached several hundrcd members Ot. the
communily as well as many visiiors from ihe LIK and 0￿er$eas.
The calendar year opened with a landmark. sell-oul concert on 14 January 2024, lealuring
th¢ world premiere of Time, a new comtK)sition willen b), Mosaic VoicLs RL5ident
Composer. Benjamin Till. The concert was presented ai Ne￿ Wesl End Synag¥u&Jue.
This 25-rninute epic compo%iiion is splil into four movem¢nis ￿'hICh i¢"Il the slory ol-c)ur

This concert also served as the firsl public announcement of a major new projecl. The Jew3 of
Briiain. planned for liv¢ prcmier¢ and recordingT in 2016. 1.his will be an ambilious
hi¥hly melodic. hour-long Lhoral work, speciall). comtx)sed by Benjamin Till. who will be
working with up to 50 academics and mus¢unVlibrary curators to unearth snippets of iext that
tell the 1.000 vear story of Ihe British-jewish community from their a￿1Val in 1066, and
subsequent expulsion, 10 their retum in ihe 1650s, rig?ht through io the preseni day.
The work is to be perfom]¢d by Mos(IiL VoiLes accompanied bN' a slring orcheslrd and
percussionists. A number ofm'cll-known prescnier5. aciors and singjers Irom the Jewish
ccimmunity arc likely to b¢ perforniin¥ as part of Ihis rL'cording and live Lvent.
The texts used in the piece will come from a widc" varicly of sourccs. including) royal edicts.
