MOSAIC VOICES (A CIO FOUNDATION) TRUSTEES REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31. DECEMBER 2023 Objeetives The charity is focussed on preserving. developing and promoting British-jewish choral heritage. bringtng this unique music to audiences of aIl backgrounds across the UK and beyond. This to be don¢ through the MluM of live performances, recordings. films. commissioning of ncw music. and education progrdmmes. with a view to creating bctt¢r understanding about Jewish culiure and religion. Activities Mosatc Voices is in its third year as a registered charity, and that period includ¢d delivery of live sacred services at least on¢e per week at its home synagogue, the historic New West End Synagogue in Bayswater. London. These included the High Holyday services for Jewish New Year and Day of Aionemcnt services. which reached several hundred members of the community &s well as many visitors from the UK and overseas. Filming began for the Psalms project. which is conceived &s an album and a stand-alone musical film exploring what unites us in an increasingly divided world. Filmed in ihe UK'S most iconiL and spiritual locations. including Glcn Coe, Hadrian s Wall. the Peak DislricL and Neolithic stone circlcs, and perfornled in Flebrcw, Yiddish, Welsh. Gaelic. Irish and English dialects. this 35-minute. entirely a capella cinematic journey shows how ancient Jewish themes r¢sonat¢ with modem day life. From our Resident Composer Benjamin Till and performed by Mosaic Voices. together with leading British female folk artists. Th¢ film will be premiered in London in early 2024 and toured around the UK as part of the UK Jewish Film Festival 2024. It is expecied to reach many thousands of viewers and listeners. Mosaic Voices musical contcnt online, which is available for free mostly on YouTube, received 7,759 views and the channel has 531 regular subscribers. In January 2023, Mosaic Voices released a new music video of Adon 01am (Searborough Fair) and in March 2023, a new music video for a setting of a Mechalkeil by Benjamin Till. For the peri(yd of 2023, Mosaic Voices, Musical Direclor was Michael Etherton (also its Founder) and ils Composer in Residence was Benjamin Till.
