As we continue to support our young people. we have deepened our commitment to creating sofe. nurturing environments that foster confidence. leadership, and collaborotion. Through tailored programmes, responsive interventions. and a playful, communicative approach, we're empowering our children affected by trauma, isolalion. ond disruption -especiol those impacted by Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) and the long-term effects of COVID-19. What We Dellvered 36 Saturday leadership workshops Iterm times) encouroging self-confidence. initiative, and voice including 3 community-led youth projects co-designed and led by our Young leaders. workshops on social media, finances, emotional regulation and more. 12 physical play-bosed learning sessions focused on communication, trust. and emotional regulation. Peer led mentoring/advice sessions overseen by leaders. Encouraging peer communication and advice from relatable perspective. Whilst fostering an environment where it's good to seek adult advice and support to resolve conflict and solve oblems.
Each year our founder takes parl in a communify Christmas parcel project, She ensures all our families ond many more receive a Christmas hamper with food, basic essentials and gift5 as part of our family-bosed approach to supporting our young people. Case Study. When I l-year-old Child Ajoined us in early 2021. she had barely spoken in class for at least Iwo years. Having experienced multiple ACES and severe isolalion during the pandemic. her confidence wa5 deeply shaken. Through genlle engagement in our play-based groups and encouragement in leadership games, Child began to find her voice. Today, she's performing at school festivals, part of cadets and opplying for speciolist performance arts school. Looklng Ahead to 2025 We are committed to: Expanding our reach to young people, schools and community collaborating with more schools and youth orgonisations advocating for our young people's current and urgent needs Advocating for greater funding resource5 for young people at a disadvantage and impacted by COVID pandemic Fvndraising We received £2506 in individual donations and charitable giving and £IOOO from Ihe Neighbourly Charitable Trusl which we used to cover staffing costs for the leadership sessions.
Flnancial review Our funds were raised through public fundraising. The charity did nol hold reserves al Ihe end of the financial year. There were not sufficient funds available to hold reserves. and the charily hod nol made any ongoing financial commitments forwhich reserves would be required. Structure. Govemanc• and Manag•m•nt Herts Young Leaders is a Charity and a Limited Company. We are governed by our written conslitulion. Every charity Irusfee musl be a natural person. No individual may be appointed as a charity trustee: if he or she 15 under the age of 16 years,. or if he or she would automalically cease to hold office under the provisions of clause 121 n the constitution. No one is entitled to oct as a charity trustee whether on appointment or on any reoppoinlment until he or She ha5 expressly acknowledged. in whatever way the charity trustees decide, his or her acceptance of the office of charity trustee. Al lea5f one of the truslees of the charity must be 18 years of age or over. If there is no Iruslee aged at least 18 years. the remaining trustees may only act to call a meeting of the charity trustees or appoint a new charity trustee.
