As per CIO new trustees are appointed by current trustees and are chosen with regard to skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO.

Farmland Bird Aid Network has four Trustees with varying lengths of term, and with the option to renew the term once. Since the founding of the charity, one new Trustee has joined and this was noted in the minutes of the Board meeting and the Charity Commission was notified. The new Trustee was given a copy of the Constitution.
Other policies already approved by the Trustees are the Volunteer Policy and Health and Safety Policy.

The trustees are aware that the present economic situation may mean that donations could become more difficult to obtain over the next year or two. However, most of our donations come from committed volunteers, and FBAN has only minimal fixed costs. Apart from bank charges, insurance costs and website hosting costs all our expenditure has gone towards the purchase of bird seed and storage containers. If necessary, the scale of our feeding programme could easily be adjusted to match available funds.

To promote the conservation of farmland bird species, particularly those in decline or at risk of extinction, by working with local communities and landowners, through supplementary feeding, monitoring and habitat restoration and conservation .

Farmland Bird Aid Network is run and mostly funded by its volunteers. The majority feed the birds on a weekly basis from November to May every year. Some count the birds at the 19 sites on a monthly basis. Others collect the seed and deliver to the sites.

Section D Achievements and performance
## **Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**
Farmland Bird Aid Network have been able to provide daily feeding during the ‘hungry gap’ for farmland birds at 19 sites across West Oxfordshire with 60 volunteers.
Monthly surveys and end of year annual survey.

Created a monthly newsletter for volunteers and other interested stakeholders. Seven monthly newsletters were produced during the feeding period to 102 contacts.
Made contact with the Northeast Cotswolds Farmer Cluster to support the farmers who are feeding farm birds over winter under their sustainability project. https://www.cotswoldfarmers.org/about
Attended the annual Wychwood Forest Fair as a stallholder to help raise our profile and increase numbers of volunteers and interested landowners.
Farmland Bird Aid Network was contacted by Dr Oliver Paget from the Zoology Department at Oxford University. Dr Paget was interested in ringing birds at several of our sites as part of a larger research project. He began ringing at our sites in November 2021.

Fundraising covers the cost of bird seed, storage and online services. We are able to adjust the scale of our feeding operation to match the available funds. There is no reserves policy as yet but this will be created next year.
