Weekly worship services - We have
been meeting in person at Arnett Hills
School since we began public

the lockdown restrictions our aims were to provide a point of connection for those in the church and the community. We have been pleased to see the numbers of attendance grow over the last year as we have made connections in the community. Foodbank care packages - We partnered with the school where we meet for services, and donated large food packages for all the families at the school who are known to be in financial need. We also contributed church resources and personnel to assist the parent teacher association in various fund-raising activities for the school. The church also contributed funds to three school families that had fallen behind in their payments to the school for their children’s extra-curricular activities, such as swimming lessons. Children's church - Children’s church has been one of the highlights of our second year. We have had so many children regularly attending that we have employed children's workers to run sessions on Sunday mornings. We believe this has enabled us to advance the children’s knowledge and understanding of the Christian religion as well as provide them with a safe place to have fun within their community. This is also a blessing to the parents as they get a chance to receive teaching and fellowship for themselves knowing that their children are being well looked after in the kid’s groups. The sunday school has provided an excellent opportunity for the children to advance their own faith.
Midweek support groups - Our midweek support groups have been
another point of connection available to anyone within the church. This has helped us to ensure we are fighting loneliness in our community. It has also been one of the main ways we have provided pastoral support to attendees as is one of our stated Charitable Purposes. The midweek groups include parent and child play mornings and coffee mornings for those retired or out of work, which has increased the well being of the community. We held well attended Easter and Christmas family events, which we advertised locally which resulted in a larger than normal group from the local community enjoying the events and learning about the meaning of these holidays.
## **Financial Review**
Our donation levels have been maintained at around £4,000 a month with some quieter summer months and more consistent and regular giving towards the end of the year with a number of members setting up regular payments.
The results for the year ended 30[th] September 2022 are set out in the attached Receipts & Payments Accounts. Total receipts for the year were £44,965 and total payments were £30,879. A surplus of £14,086 arose in the year which was £150 restricted funds and the remainder unrestricted funds, and this was carried forward to the following year.
A reserve of at least three months’ running costs is to be held as a reserve fund. This was equivalent to approximately £9,000 compared to the actual general reserves of £15,290 unrestricted reserves at the year end.
Our principle form of funds are gifts and standing orders from church attendees and visitors.

## **INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES**
## **YEAR ENDED 30 SEPTEMBER 2022**
I report on the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 30 September 2022.
## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner**
The Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The Trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:
- examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act;
- to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Act; and
- to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
## **Basis of independent examiner’s report**
My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair view’ and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
## **Independent examiner’s statement**
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:
- to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; and
- • to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act
