Appendix B - Trustees’ Report
We, the trustees, are happy to report the ongoing work of Radio BGM is meeting all our community targets. The Station’s operational, technical and presenting teams have continued to work diligently throughout the year and we continue to be a viable support for patients at Prince Philip Hospital.
We have continued to build a closer partnership working with Hywel Dda Health Board in a variety of areas including volunteering and operations. Station equipment grades have been accomplished and several are in progress. Working with hospital staff, we are preparing to introduce internet radios to the wards. We are excited to see where this partnership with Hywel Dda and hospital staff takes us next.
The trustees and fundraising teams have continued to provide the funds need by Radio BGM to continue to operate at a full service including much needed additions to our music library. Thanks to the generous donation of equipment and funds, we now have a screen displaying Radio BGM information and livestreaming our broadcast in the main entrance of the hospital. We continue to operate within our available resources.
A special mention must be made of presenters Alessandro De Filippo, Duggie Douglas and Gareth Hurford for receiving Gold and Bronze Awards from the Hospital Broadcasting Association, and especially to our chair Dave Hurford, who received the John Whitney award for outstanding commitment. This outstanding national industry recognition speaks highly of the skill and quality of Radio BGM programming.
We continue to monitor and develop various policies required for the governance of Radio BGM, and we have made progress in implementing a number of new process and policies with the current framework of the organisation.
Finally, we, the Trustees of Radio BGM, would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all our volunteers involved in providing a varied service of news, music, and information to the patients and staff of the local NHS service.
Our gratitude to them cannot be measured in words alone.
We are so immensely proud to be part of this incredible organisation.
