CHAIRPERSON’S ANNUAL REPORT FOR CRAFTS SHED MARCH 2024
Crafts Shed continues to meet on a Thursday Morning in the Octagon Meeting Room. At present there is little opportunity to make items. We cannot create dust within the Octagon due to the other groups that use the premises. We are therefore limited in making objects. Members continue to use their own garages to help in make some items.
Financially we remain in sound position.
We are continually looking for the potential for new premises. We require approximately 80 square metres. Do you have spare space? We are extremely grateful to those who have lent us garage space to store items.
Crafts Shed have undertaken occasional trips out, recently we went to the Fitzwilliam Museum following on from a very good talk in the Worship Hall re early Egyptian Carpentry Tools. This was excellent, and it proved how easy we could get into town.
Despite not making many items, membership numbers have actually increased this year. If you would like to become a member then please give Chris a ring on 07711 623425. Sadly, however, we mourn the passing of two members, Alex Smethurst and John Crick.
We continue to members of the United Kingdom Mens’ Shed Association. We are a registered charity.
I am extremely appreciative of all those who give of their time for OUR Shed.
