## **CRAFTSSHED TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT FOR JANUARY 2022 TO DECEMBER 2022** 

The year started well. However, CraftsShed was given three months’ notice by the Scouts, in May, that they required the complete use of their building again as their numbers were increasing following COVID and a new Section was to be formed for the very young. We were sorry to leave this location as there had been a good footfall, enabling us to sell products that we were making. 

We are extremely grateful to the Church Leadership Team who have allowed us to have a room in the Old Church Building once a week on a Thursday meeting. This commenced in August 2022. However, this has limited what we can do, as the room is used by various groups including children, which means that no wood cutting can take place due to the sawdust produced. On the positive side for men’s welfare, we have more members who wish to call in and have a tea/ coffee and a chat. We have fifteen members. 

Finding a suitable venue for us is very difficult due to the high rents that Industry expect people to pay. The Parish Council has no spare spaces for organisations like ourselves. 

Financially at the end of year we have a balance of £2628. This means that we are solvent. We have also been able to undertake work for the Church, such as painting their sheds and fences. We also attended the Xmas Fayre and other Community events such as the Summer Fete where we are able to sell some of the products made. 

We have made an application for Community Chest Funding from South Cambridgeshire District Council, in order to erect a shed and give us limited storage facilities. Much of our equipment remains in two or three individual’s garages around our village. Several members will make items in their own garage. 

It is hoped that there will be an additional Trustee, but this will be decided at the AGM in March 2023. 

Liaison with the Parish Council remains good. There has been a recent request for us to remove a broken bench within the village. This will be undertaken shortly. 

Outside activities such as visits to museums and other places of interest will continue to be considered. Always popular is the Annual Christmas Dinner.
