In November we held our first fireworks
event. It was better than we all could ever
have imagined with the event being a sell
out! The undertaking of this exceeded all
of our expectations (and we are all a little
greyer still from it!) but the fireworks,
food, music and feedback from the event
had the whole team flying very high for a
long time after. Here’s to this year’s event
being even more memorable. With a profit
of over £8,000 it allowed us to fund so
many bids throughout the year.
Christmas saw the first Elfridges shopping
experience for our children which was
magical for all of them and I personally
loved seeing the smile on my boys faces as
they gave us our presents they had chosen.
The amazing elves are hoping to recreate
this experience again this year for our
children.
Raffles, mufti days, Christmas cards, Easter
stalls, Cake sales, trips to theme parks have
all played a big part in fundraising for our
school community and money raised will
be shared in the treasurer’s report shortly.
The year was rounded off with festival
vibes at our summer fayre! The sun shone
and the music flowed (along with a few
cheeky drinks!) and so much fun was had
by all. It really did round off a fabulous end
to our year and fundraising events and
once again a tremendous amount was
raised.
I hope this year that the PTA will continue
to gain more support and build upon what
we have previously achieved. I wish
everyone well and thank you again to the
phenomenal PTA team and all the support
and help from our children, parents, staff
and friends of Avonwood. I am honoured,
proud and grateful to be a part of the
wonderful Avonwood family and that our
children get to benefit from all of this
