The senior cricket program has been maintained, with four senior
sides competing in the Sussex Cricket League. Unfortunately, the
poor summer in 2023 resulted in a disjointed start to the season, and
variable availability from week to week adversely affected selection.
The Ladies First XI continued to play in the Women’s Cricket
Southern League – Premier competition, with five players selected
by the County over the summer. Our youth sides have competed in
several age groups up to Under 16, but the juniors have faced
challenges recruiting younger age groups.
As a Disability Cricket Champions Club, our work with young
disabled players continued to grow through increased numbers
during our Saturday morning Super 1s sessions. The club also
hosted games played by the Sussex Disability XI and its visually
impaired training sessions. As part of our support of community
cricket, we also hosted several Sussex Cricket Foundation schools
and club competitions.
_Ansty Football Club_
Ansty Football Club introduced a second senior team in the 2023/24
season. Unfortunately, the weather and poor ground conditions
have prevented games from being played at Ansty since October
2023. The club maintained its fixture program by hiring external
facilities.
_Safeguarding_
ECB Clubmark reaccreditation was secured in the year, showing that
the Club is sustainable, safe, and well-run and provides the right
environment for its members.
_Capital Projects_
Two projects were delivered in the year. The Groundsman’s Store
was refurbished in August, and the replacement cricket nets were
completed in December. The Club has consulted with the Sussex
Football Association and the Grounds Management Association on
developing a turf improvement program, including drainage

total receipts of £119,601 (2022, £8,350) and total payments of
£131,174 (2022, £12,142), resulting in a deficit for the year of
£11,573 (2022, deficit £3,792). The principal receipts were grants of
£111,405 from the Mid Sussex District Council to fund the store
refurbishment and replacement cricket nets. In total, the ACSC paid
£127,753 to ASSC to meet the construction cost of both projects,
the balance of the funds coming from grants from the Peter Harrison
Foundation received in prior years.
Other fundraising activities, such as Race Night and 200 Club, raised
a total of £4,696, of which £2,481 was paid to ASSC as a contribution
towards grounds maintenance costs. A further £580 was paid out in
prizes to 200 Club members. Other receipts in the period of £3,000
related to recoveries from ASSC and the Ansty Village Centre Trust in
respect of professional fees met by ACSC in prior years.
On 31 December 2023, the ACSC held funds of £2,926 (2022,
£14,499).
Following the dissolution of the ASSC, revenues and expenditures
incurred in delivering the cricket and football programmes
accounted for in the ASSC financial statements, and those of the
cricket and football sections will, from 1 January 2024, be included
in the ACSC charity statements.
_Fundraising_
The ACSC continues to raise funds to invest in improving the playing
facilities on the Recreation Ground, purchasing kits and equipment,

Other|Para 1.51|Ansty Community Sports Club (ACSC, the Club) was established as
a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) in November 2020 as a
registered charity. The ACSC aims to promote community
participation in healthy recreation by providing facilities for playing
cricket and football. On 31 December 2023, the ACSC assumed
responsibility for the charitable activities of Ansty Cricket Club and
Ansty Football Club from the Ansty Sports and Social Club (ASSC).
In addition to continuing the sports clubs, the ACSC will promote
diversity and inclusion in amateur sports.
The ACSC has a wholly owned subsidiary, ACSC Services Limited
(the Service Company). On 1 January 2024, the Service Company
assumed responsibility for the ASSC’s non-charitable activities.
The ASSC ceased operations on 31 December 2023.
The ACSC conducts its activities from the newly opened Ansty
Village Centre at Deaks Lane, Ansty, West Sussex, RH17 5AS. The
