Summary of the purposes of the charity as set out in its governing document
For the benefit of the public generally, in particular, the inhabitants of Kettering and its surrounding areas:
1. to promote community participation in healthy recreation by providing facilities for the playing of association football and other sports capable of improving health (facilities in this clause means land, buildings, equipment and organising sporting activities).
2. to provide and assist in providing facilities for sport, recreation or other leisure time occupation of such persons who have need for such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, poverty or social and economic circumstances or for the public at large in the interest of social welfare and with the object of improving their conditions of life.
3. to relieve sickness and to preserve and promote physical and mental health through such charitable means as the trustees think fit.
4. to advance the education of children and other persons including academic, social and physical education) through such charitable means as the trustees think fit.
5. for the general purposes of such charitable bodies or for such other exclusively charitable purposes in each case as the trustees may from time to time decide.
Summary of the main activities in relation to those purposes for the public benefit, in particular, the activities, projects or services identified in the accounts
Kettering town FC Community Trust runs the following:
1. Community football teams for 6-16 year old boys and girls with weekly training sessions and matches.
2. Community football teams for 6-16 year old girls only with weekly training sessions and matches.
3. Women’s over 40’s walking football weekly sessions.
4. Multi-disability weekly football sessions for children aged 7-16.
5. School holiday football camps for football, goalkeepers and multi- sports.
6. Before and after school football sessions.
7. School Sports Competitions – inter school leagues for schools in the local community.
8. Schools and community tournaments and fun days.
9. Charity events.
The above activities benefitted our members by developing their confidence and selfesteem, developing social skills and providing opportunities to improve their physical and mental health. Members and volunteers are from a variety of ages regardless of personal background, faith, gender, socio-economic background or personal circumstances.
Kettering Town FC Community Trust understands the role that good physical health and wellbeing has in improving the quality for life for children and adults, regardless of individual differences.
The trust provides a range of opportunities for people in Kettering and surrounding areas to improve physical and mental health, improve community inclusion and education, and reduce involvement in negative activities including anti-social behaviour.
The community have always been hugely supportive of Kettering Football Club, and without that fan base, the club simply would not exist. The club felt there was an opportunity to give back to the local community and so the trust was formed and formally registered as a charity in November 2020.
The trust's charity registration means we can focus on delivering projects with, and for, our local community. Our association with Kettering Town Football Club gives our beneficiaries direct access to good quality coaches and facilities. We are wholly reliant on fundraising activities and the kind support of our community and grant providers to deliver these projects. Being a small community trust means we can adapt quickly to changes in the community and address local challenges. We work closely with our beneficiaries and other professionals to ensure our activities are accessible, inclusive and empower those that take part.
## **Achievements and Performance**
Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole.
- Street Football
The aim of the project was to provide free of charge football activity sessions at the Grange Park in Kettering to children aged 7-16. The purpose of the sessions was to target those in lower socio-economic areas in Kettering, with a view to reducing levels of anti-social behaviour and to those who might have less access to sports
activities. We believe the activity as helped to improve physical, mental health and wellbeing in line with our Trust values and aims. The sessions being free helps for inclusivity for all those that would like to attend, without affordability being a barrier. Attending Children have had the opportunity to meet new people and to make friends. It’s also fantastic that they have something to look forward to, within a friendly group set-up that will hopefully gave them a sense of belonging and increased confidence.
- Walking Men’s and Women’s Football
Back in July 2023 Clark Cowell (Chairman and Trustee) joined Kettering Town with a view to setting up a Men’s Walking Football Team, from scratch. The walking football mainly focuses on fun, exercise and social interaction (making new friends and reducing isolation). It is an excellent way of staying fit and healthy. It also has substantial mental health benefits, including personal reward, reducing stress levels and gives a sense of belonging.
During late 2023 and early 2024, we arranged a few friendly games, our results were mixed, but Clark could see the potential to create something special. Not just in terms of the football, but in the strong relationships that were being forged. In the February of 2024 we decided to enter the Northamptonshire Walking Football League.
The team continued to train throughout the summer, improving our game play and becoming much stronger. In the August they entered the Walking Football FA Cup and finished up as beaten finalists in the Northamptonshire regional finals.
In September 2024 the team played once again in the Northamptonshire Walking Football league, results were much better and the players had really become a very close and cohesive unit.
We now have a squad of 26 players, and still train on a Thursday evening and we continue to improve. We are still a very close unit, playing our football for each other and encouraging each other. We’ve become more than a team of walking footballers, we are a team of friends.
This February 2025, we are entering two teams into the league and I am confident that both teams will do great.
## HAF
The KTFC Community Trust joined the Northamptonshire Sport initiative – _delivering the government-funded HAF programme in Northamptonshire. Known locally as – HAF Northants, the funded school holiday clubs ensure that disadvantaged children, young people and families have access to healthy food and enriching activities throughout holiday periods. To take part in the programme families must be receiving benefits-related free school meals and be aged between 5 to 16 years old._
At Kettering Town Community Trust we provide a action-packed, fun-filled program designed for children of all skill levels to enjoy football during the school break. The camp provides young players with the opportunity to develop their football abilities through a range of engaging activities, including skill drills, tactical exercises, and exciting mini-matches, all under the guidance of experienced and qualified coaches. Each day is carefully structured to ensure a balance between learning and enjoyment, with a focus on improving technical skills, teamwork, and fitness. Whether your child is a beginner or an experienced player, the camp is designed to offer a positive and inclusive environment where everyone can participate, have fun, and grow their love for the game. In addition to football, the KTFC Community Trust Football Holiday Camp emphasizes important values such as sportsmanship, respect, and healthy living. It’s the perfect way for children to stay active, make new friends, and enjoy their school break in a safe and supportive setting.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended **31 / 05 / 2024** .
As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
