3. Objectives and artlvities
The charitys objective is the rellefof poverty in Fornlaya. Bonth District of Sierra Leone.
The Yamani Projert designs and supports sustainable programme5 that build long-tenn
self-reliance and provlde hope to disadvantaged women and chlldren in Formaya Village.
To further these aims in the perlod. the charlty focused on.. (a) eommunlty engagement and
needs assessment: Ib) identlfylng sustalnable, communlty-led initlatives: and (c) preparing
for deliveryas circumstances allowed.
4. Public benefit statement
The trustees confirn) that they have had due reganl to the Charity Commission's guidance
on public benefit in planning the charitys activities. The charitys work is directed to
improvfing welfare and opportunity for beneficiarfies in Fornlayd Village, Sierra ttone.

5. Achievemer7ts and performance
The period was significantly afferted by the COV]￿19 pandemic. Travel restrictlons, supply
dlsruption and higher costs limited the Chari￿s abillty to implement planned activTrties and
constrained fundraising opportunitie& Notwithstandlng these challenges. the trustees
maintained engagement with loc￿ stakeholde￿, developed dellvery plans for sustainable
Ilvelihood and welfare initiatives, and Strengthened governance arrangements as a newly
fornied CIO.

8. Risk management
Key rlsks Include operadonal challenges of Internatlonal dellvery, safeguardin& financlal
controls and fundraising volatility. The trustees monltor these rlsks and adopt
proporttonate controls, Including segregation of dutles, OVe￿Ight ofpayments. and due
dillgence on partners.
COVID-19 created exceptional risks durlng the perlod, resulting in delays to artlvlty and
cost increases. The tn￿tee$ responded by pacing commitments and focusing on
groundwork and preparation.
9. Basls of preparation and reportlng framework
Thls Trustee< Annual Report has been prepared to meet the requlrements of the Charities
Act 2011 and the Charltles (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008. As a small CIO with
gross income well below the statutory thresholds. the charitys accounts for this period may
be prepared on a receipts and payments basis under sertlon 133 ofthe Charities ACL Where
accruals accounts are prepared, they follow UK GAAP (FRS 102) as adapted by the Charities
SORP (FRS 102). International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) are not applied to UK
charltles: the applicable framework is UK GAAP/FRS 102 and the Charities SORP.

10. Plans for future periods
The charity plans to: (a) rebuild fijndraising capacity Post-pandemic," (b) comrnence
sustainable livelihood projects for women; (c) supw)rt chlld welfare and education
initiatives: and (d) deepen partnerships with local stakeholders in Forniaya to ensure
loDg-terni sustainability.
11. Statement of trustees. responslbllltles
The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees. Annual Report and the accounts in
accordance with applicable law and UK accounting standards. They ensure that accounting
records are kept and that the accounts give a true and fair view where prepared on an
accruals basis, or fairly present cash movements and year-end assets and Ilabilitles where
prepared on a recelpts and payments basis.
