Para 1.38 | Callington Foodbank have a wealth of skilled volunteers who generously give their time to assist those in need. The skills of the team range from an ex- housing officer to a few ex-nurses and a financial advisor. Without the support of our volunteers we would not be able to run the foodbank. |

| Other – Financial Inclusion | Having been awarded a grant from Trussell Trust, we appointed a Support & referral worker to work in partnership |
with Citizens Advice to ensure clients are maximising the benefits and support that they can to reduce the need for using Foodbank and helping them to be more Financially independent. This resulted in excess of £150,000 of additional income or other support to clients over the first year of operation. Clients are also supported with a wide range of other issues eg. Housing, Debt, Employment etc.

Para 1.20 | During the timeframe 2/6/22→1/6/23 the foodbank fed 1223 people (consisting of 812 Adults & 411 Children) and used just over 14½ Tonnes. A little over 12 tonnes was directly given to clients, a little under 1½ tonne was used for Xmas Hampers and the rest being distributed between the local community larder/fridge as well as the local soup run. |

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Callington Foodbank (the Trust) for the year ended 1[st] June, 2023.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under Section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent Examiner’s Statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
-
(1) accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or
-
(2) the accounts do not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
