## **Teignmouth Old Cemetery CIO**
## **Annual Report Year Ending 31[st] December 2024**
The CIO was established in order to be able to negotiate a long-term lease, from Teignbridge District Council, on the derelict buildings in the cemetery. This is a pre-requisite for seeking funding for the renovation work required.
We have been unable to begin negotiations with Teignbridge District Council owing to the continuing impact of the COVID pandemic from 2020 to 2021 and significant staff shortages at the Council which have continued through 2024.
Our hope is still that the problems at the Council will be resolved in the coming year so that progress can be made. Meanwhile we will need to review our original business plan to assess whether it needs reworking in light of the time that has passed.
