The Trustees of Incredible Me present their annual report and audited accounts for the year ended 30 November 2021 and confirm they comply with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011, the trust deed and the Charities SORP (FRS 102).
Our Aims
_To advance the education of all children who attend the Oasis Academy Long Cross Resource Base (situated in Lawrence Weston, Bristol BS11 0LP) by supporting their parents or guardians with the right support needed to ensure the children who attend there thrive and reach their full potential._
The Long Cross Resource Base is a school that educates primary school aged children with severe and complex learning difficulties, many of whom have a diagnosis of autism spectrum condition. The school is located in Long Cross, Lawrence Weston in Bristol, an area ranked in the top 5% of deprived areas in the UK according to the Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD).
Incredible Me is a registered charity that was set up in November 2020 by parents of children who attend the Long Cross Resource Base. We are passionate about helping other parents negotiate the complex and everchanging challenges of raising a child with additional needs. At the very least we want to ensure that these parents have easy access to a wide range of resources to help them and their children navigate their journey through childhood.
Incredible Me exists to facilitate raising funds so desperately needed by the team at Long Cross Resource Base. Any funds we raise will go towards furthering our core objectives which include:
- 1) Offer information and family support
2) Create new/ improve existing play and leisure activities to help these incredible children learn about physical boundaries and provide a safe environment for them to release anxieties and challenge themselves. 3) Provide educational resources to promote essential emotional selfregulation.
## **Our Objectives**
- To continue to raise money towards our Active Zone - We want to build a bespoke all-weather playground- the Active Zone (made up of a circa £20,000 Rebound Zone and a circa £62,000 Motion Zone)that truly supports the physical and mental health of these incredible children. Giving the children an early opportunity to learn how to be active with their disabilities and learn how to play outside in an ever-changing environment will be key to them developing the life skills to be healthy, independent and confident.

- Throughout the current academic year Incredible Me would like to continue to commission Bears Spectrum Sport program to come to the school every week for two hours delivering a bespoke program of sport and physical activity to each and every one of our children. Enabling our children who wouldn’t normally be able to access a program of sport, even one designed for SEND children as it was too high demand for them or too generic in its design for SEND. This is delivered with two highly trained instructors and supported by all the staff within the Resource Base so all our children can truly enjoy joining in.
- Continue to support the Long Cross Resource Base Parent Group, by providing support from trained volunteers who are peers. The support is offered in the form of open groups, to bring in external speakers for more directed information and on 1:1 basis.
- To be able to deliver ad-hoc support to the school when specific pieces of equipment are needed that can’t be funded directly, such as sensory aids and bikes.
## **Review of Activities and Achievements**
The parent group continues to meet every other week offering external speakers delivering expert guidance on the issues we as parents of children with such complex needs face and also peer support in a group setting. As many of our parents struggle with the amount and complexity of the forms and negotiating and having access to the technology required to complete them. We also offer sessions on a 1:1 basis to really go through their individual circumstances, their child’s particular needs and then help them with the application processes to ensure they are as fully supported as they can be. We also look at ways to obtain grants for specific items of equipment their child might need such as an adapted pushchair.
All our trustees are being trained through IPSEA to understand SEN Law and how it applies to our children’s EHPC’s and their annual reviews. Educating us in what is available to the child and also ensuring the Local Authority are being clear and quantifiable when outlining their offer.
We supported our families over the summer holiday last year with days out for the whole family, allowing families to access actives normally out of their financial reach and also transportation to local SEND provisions to reduce the stress of catching public transport. We took the positive take up from this and now provide transportation to any family that needs it to attend any group activity held at the school outside of normal school hours, such as Welcome Parties or Christmas Parties (COVID allowing).

We have been successful in obtaining a grant from Bristol Community Health - Health & Wellbeing Grant towards the Rebound zone, this together with the grant awarded on our behalf to Oasis Hub North from St James Place Foundation has been sufficient in commissioning the build which will occur in February 2022.
## **Financial Review**
As we have only been an active charity since November 2020, we have known no other times than during COVID-19. This has therefore not made any known impact on our finances. Our main source of funding continues to be that of trusts and foundations, but we have managed to run an outside fundraising event at a local school which allowed us to raise unrestricted funds.
As we have no outstanding overheads or fixed costs at this time, our reserves policy has been decided at £500. This being sufficient to cover any immediate needs but not enough to feel that we were withholding resources to the school.
Structure, Governance and Management
Incredible Me received charity status on 2[nd] November 2020 as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. It was decided on 16[th] February 2021 to add an additional trustee (Anna Conger) so there were three unrelated trustees at all times. This was registered with the Charities Commission and our registration was updated.
The new trustee was selected in accordance to our documentation:
(1) Apart from the first charity trustees, every trustee must be appointed for a term of three years by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees.
(2) In selecting individuals for appointment as charity trustees, the charity trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO.
The charity trustees will make available to each new charity trustee, on or before his or her first appointment:
(a) a copy of the current version of this constitution; and
(b) a copy of the CIO’s latest Trustees’ Annual Report and statement of accounts.
The charity trustees must comply with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 with regard to the keeping of accounting records, to the preparation and scrutiny of statements of account, and to the preparation of annual reports and returns. The statements of account, reports and returns must be sent to the Charity Commission, regardless of the income of the CIO, within 10 months of the financial year end. The charity trustees must comply with their obligation to

inform the Commission within 28 days of any change in the particulars of the CIO entered on the Central Register of Charities.

## **Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees of Incredible Me**
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Incredible Me Trust (the Trust) for the year ended 30 November 2021.

## **Responsibilities and basis of report**
As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (the Act).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under s.145 pf the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable directions given by the Charity Commission under s. 145(5)(b) of the Act.
## **Independent examiner’s statement**
I have completed my examination. I can confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by s.130 of the Act; or
2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or
3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008, other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and view’ which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
