ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE CHARITIES COMMISSION 2025
The ChL'rch, as w811 as weekly Sunday seNices. Sunday Club with activtties toryoung children, have been
involved in the tollowing Dver the p8St ye8r.
1, F.oo_db.arLk- Ouf local Foodb8nk continues to use tb.e lower ground floor space as their warehouse, with
offices and a client drop-in centre, and satellttes in Millom and'dlverston. Occasionally th& Church hall
is used for tra5ning and as an extra space during bvsy times like the Cb.ri8tmas period. They 3150 hold
their AGN there.
2. 1.o.dd19.1 Gro.up$.-The toddlef groups meet twi-e weekly duringterm time and w-
-eklyin holiddls. Théy
provide facilities for 60+ babies and children and iheir responsible 8dtslts. as well as a time tor singing
with actiong and stories. Snacks and refreshments are also provided which always ineludo fruit 9p.d
toast.
3. .B_rursc_h C.lubs.-Onee a month on a Satufday and weekly durt.ng school holidays the Church has free
lunch clubs, ploviding a¢tivities and oames f¢r both toddler> 8nd older chi'drtsn. Lunch is provided fr)r
20-30 families. We 8150 include action songs and stnries from the Bible.
4. CFiildi.¢D'S_ChTiStm_8.s. P.art¥,_This is held on 8 Saturday in December for up to 70 children aged O-11
years. It is open to an.yone in the community a first ccme, first senie basis.
..ts Ptg_oe-The Church con.tin1￿es to provide a weejdy Meeting Aace throughout the year, we offer
free cooked lunch, with ¥efreshmep.ts and activities tor 20-30 people. Open to t￿,e community it otters
easy access for people with mental health and learning disabilities who can attend and be welcomed.
6. C_cmmunity S_tsup_LLin_eh- Our soup lunches continue to be a popul2r. weekLy, 50C131 g>t togetD.er for 25-
40 people inthe commun,'ty. Eacb. week a healthy. home-made soup. is provided. Anybody is invitedto
joip,, from people with health 3nd fin8nci9i difficulties, to those who live alone or like to enjoy a gel
together with otheis.
7. C_hrjs.tmasDay.Luncb-After the s6r¥ice on C￿>￿3tmRs Dal. we provide luncb. to anyone who othemise
may be 3lonB or struggle dulingthis time. Around 30-40 People attend, &nd those who are able, donate
towards the cost. With this lunch and other seNices, people have been diTe¢ted to Lt8 by I￿.e Foodbank.

8. L¥ler LtJn¢.he&- One Monday a month we p¥oviO8 8 lunch aimed at oldei people. Initially in conjunction
with Ag# UK it is now run the Church. With a 2-course hot lunch and refreshments for 40-70 people,
those who attend enjo￿ a sing-alorig, quizzes, stories. craft5 and games activities.
9. Atter sckoo_l.C.ILts- With children mainlyfrom Furne5s Academy, the Church piovides o local'drop-in,

10. comm.unity A￿O_-S￿pp.Ort Groups- Various community and support groups use 3re&s ot tha building
during the week. Alcoholics AnonsqnoL'S regularly use our premises f(kr several 5L'PPOrt group meetings.
Narcotics Anotiymous and Gamblers Anop,ymous hold weekly support meetings. Ttte NHS Casualty
Union hold training sessions here regularly. A local Games Gioup meet weeLly alongwith occ8sioii&I 811
day sessions. The Church hasweekl'i groups of Rainbow5. Brownies 8nd Guides in the hall. An.other
community group meet for Line Dancing. and an Exercise G¥r)up meets weekly. Loeal singing.group
Vo¢e rehearse regularly in the Church. also the Barrow¥, Operatic and Diamatt"c Society rehearse in the
Hall. Rccently thg chu'rch has provideo spaceforthe AsAumSeekers SupportGrouD tTtonth.lywho
through donations give out clothes and household goods to pecple newto the area and country. Age UK
hold weekly activities fo¥ older people in the hai(. We also have an astrtrnom¥ group Ltse the Upper
Room once a month.
11. Childron's.-Pffiies- Throtighout theyear. local families hire the h8118nd the use of the krtch8n for a
smallfee to hold birthdaylcelebratiors Parties. being spacious enough for bouncy castles elc.
12. 1[jnityC.hur"h- Trinty Chts'rcb, Centre continues to use our Church for their regular services 2nd host a
monthly coffee morning.
13. 8.eD.etrolent Fund- Thi.8 fund continues. tr2,fough donations, to provide small grant5 to those in need.
iiicluding peoplewho ha'le beer, made home:ess. We ha￿e supported people assisting in house

moves, help with access io benefits and support 8s well as co-ordinating items needed to lurnish 8 new
home.
14. ALdi- Aldi continue to donate SLirpius and close to expiration foods whlch we use in r)eals: and given to
people can use the food. Aldi also have gtven non-tood items too, providing to those W￿10 5trknggle
with *unds and reducingfoodwaste. B&Q have a￿O￿Onated deeoratingproducts in the pastaswell.
15. Extra E'ients-Ttriese include tle FurTriess Community Network meetings, 8nd the Liverpool
Philharmonic Pop.up concerts. a communityA£ape meaL concerts bythe Barrow M8leVoice Choir
the Flookbuigh Brass Band. Also
