The Charity was formed on the 30[th] of October 2020. The Charity is governed by a Constitution.
The Charity is constituted as Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).
The Charitable purposes of charity are:

a. To advance the Muslim religion in Leeds and in such other parts of the United Kingdom for the benefit of the public through the holding of prayer meetings, lectures, public celebration of religious festivals, producing and/or distributing literature on Islamic faith to enlighten others about the Muslim religion by all means consistent with the teachings of the Qu’ran and Ahadeeth as interpreted by the Sunni Hanafi Deobandi school of thought.

b. For the public benefit to promote the education, including social and physical training of people in such ways as the charity trustees think fit, including by awarding to such persons scholarships, maintenance allowances or grants tenable at any university, college or institution of higher or further education.

c. To provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life.

End of Year Charity Return Statement
This year marked another crucial phase in the development of our charity, as we continue the journey from vision to reality. While the organisation remains in its early start-up stage, the trustees have remained committed to laying a strong foundation for future success.
Key Achievements:

We began forming a core team of trustees with relevant skills and experience to guide the charity’s direction and governance. This has included outreach to individuals with expertise in community work, finance, and organisational development.

We have initiated efforts to raise awareness of our cause locally and have established early connections with members of the community who share our vision.

Planning for service delivery is ongoing, with a clear focus on long-term sustainability and meaningful community impact.
Challenges Faced:

Rent and Overheads: One of the most pressing issues has been the significant cost of rent and utility bills. Escalating heating and lighting expenses, along with core operating costs, have placed considerable strain on our limited resources.

Volunteer Skills Shortage: We have experienced difficulty in attracting and retaining volunteers with the specialist skills required to launch our services. This shortage has delayed our operational progress and remains a key barrier to delivering on our mission.

Start-up Phase Complexity: Navigating the complexities of establishing a charity in the current economic climate has proven challenging, particularly amidst rising living costs and a highly competitive funding environment.
Looking Forward:
Despite these setbacks, our commitment to building a community-focused, sustainable charity remains unwavering. The trustees are actively exploring alternative pathways to ensure operational readiness, including collaboration with local partners and upskilling opportunities for volunteers.
Recruitment of new trustees with diverse skills and backgrounds continues to be a top priority. We are confident that with the right team and community support, we can begin delivering the services that inspired the formation of this charity.
Final Reflections:
While this year has brought its share of obstacles, it has also strengthened our resolve. Every challenge has been a learning opportunity, and every step—no matter how small—has brought us closer to fulfilling our mission. We remain hopeful and
