The Charity is governed by a Constitution. The Charity is constituted as Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). ## **The Charitable purposes of charity are:** - a. To advance the Muslim religion in Leeds and in such other parts of the United Kingdom for the benefit of the public through the holding of prayer meetings, lectures, public celebration of religious festivals, producing and/or distributing literature on Islamic faith to enlighten others about the Muslim religion by all means consistent with the teachings of the Qu’ran and Ahadeeth as interpreted by the Sunni Hanafi Deobandi school of thought. - b. For the public benefit to promote the education, including social and physical training of people in such ways as the charity trustees think fit, including by awarding to such persons scholarships, maintenance allowances or grants tenable at any university, college or institution of higher or further education. - c. To provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life. 1 ## **The main achievements of the charity in the year were:** This year has been a challenging one for our charity as we continue to navigate the complexities of our start-up phase. The high cost of living, rising heating and lighting expenses, along with significant rent and operational costs, have presented substantial hurdles. One of the major obstacles we faced was operationalising the charity. A shortage of necessary skills among volunteers has hindered our ability to offer the services we had planned. Despite these setbacks, our trustees are actively exploring alternative options to achieve full operational capability. Our primary goal now is to sustain the charity once it becomes fully operational. We are dedicated to finding solutions for financial stability and deepening our community involvement. The commitment to overcoming these challenges is strong, and we remain focused on making a positive impact. Moving forward, we are concentrating on recruiting additional trustees with the right skill set to bolster our efforts. Together, we strive to overcome these obstacles and continue to work towards our mission of community betterment.
