Paul Dadford was re-appointed as a Trustee during the year. The Project was successfvl with fundlng applications durlng the year for the footpath maintenance and operatlng ¢o$ts. In total, £2,207 of grant monies were received during the year. Our Volunteer Manager has managed a number of work parlies throughout the year. implementing keeping abreast of preventative maintenance and repair works to ensure footpaths remain well maintained and accessible. A series of guided walks was run over the summer and autumn months. Different walks covered different themes being, history. wildlrfe and evening tours for observation of different species of bat and these generated donations of £292. Additionally, a number of talkslpresentations were dellvered to local groups and these generated donations of £119. Further donations from individuals and local groups amounting to £1.018 were received. The Project's website and Facebook page continue to be important channels for engaging with the local community and have generated a considerable amount of interest in our work. Our Facebook followers now exceeds 1,400. We continue to work with landowners and Rutland County Councll to: 1. Realign one public footpath closer to the canal corridor- this objective will take a number of years to achieve as it is enmeshed in greater development plans. 2. To create a new public right of way on the Springfield Park section. This work is aimed at rotactin and romotin the Canal as a vital ublic reen s ace.
