tntroduction
Our income of £30,650 was nearly £2.1XJO higherth8n our income in 2024 atf28.879. Thedecre&se in income from Int¢re5t
w&s more or less offset by the increased incorne at £3201 from the Coffee SIK>P. The res¢ come from the increased income
from the Communtty Fridge.
Althougb st is not shown &5 a 5eparnte ineome stream we continue to reclaim Gift Aid on donation$ where the donors have
signed up to the gift Aid 5chwne. A clatm goes in twice a year in June and December and w¢ ree¢ived jusi under £600 in
total for the year. We allocate th¢ money back to the source of donation eg Anlla Chaplaincy. We a]so claimed £2.000, the
maximum possible. under th¢ small donation gift aid scheme for the Community Fridge. This has to be claimed after the
end of the tax year and covm ihe period of the t&x year. Thus when th¢ April A¢¢ounts ere completed at the beginning of
May w¢ Can make a elaim. We would expect to Claim a SiTnilar amoun¢ this year.
Lipreading does not 8enerate any incoTre ottd th¢ expenses that we incur are the money that we pay to $ubsidi¢s lh¢ ¢ours¢
that is run.
Languuge Hub hos a small income from the students takin8 part who feel Able to make 8 contribution. Some of the cl￿5¢5
are held in Leath¢rheod so mostly the expenses incurred ar¢ ¢ours¢ matsrials, mileage and parking expense$ for the ￿t0
Iving the le8gons.
This year we spent £36.216. some £3.0(Kl less than last year. We did not spend any money upgTading the w¢bsil¢ and we
only spent £IOOO on Cornmwiity support as opposed to sorne £30CH) last year
As a result we redu¢¢d our fijnds from £47J19 at the bE8inning of 2025 10 £41954 at the end of the year.
These great results are due to the hord work of our volunteers and to the help we receiv¢ from our benef￿torS for which
we are extremely gr4t¢fvl. Th¢ tru$tees are all volunteers as well and this year w¢ sp¢ni $0rn¢ £764 which is about 2% of
our expenditur¢ and would be considered at the low end ofthe s￿¢truM.

This year will still be ¢h411enging with interest rates expected to drop so causing our inv¢5tm¢nt in¢ome to fall.
UncertAintie9 from national and international politics may also prove challenging.
Re5¢rvcs Policy
The Reserves Policy is based on an ass¢5sm¢nt of the perceived risks to The Meeting Place and is r¢vicwcd onnually. The
Trnstees consider it prudent to maiDlain our reserves at a level ¢quivalent to 6 months of the expenditure budgeted. Our
budget for this year 1$ ju$t over £42,000 which meons that our reserves haye lo be a minimum of £21,(M)O. We are in the
fortunate position of inheriting a heathy bank balance and we esttmate that at the year end we will still haye £28,ol￿ in
the bank and 50 will m¢¢t Crtty thYg¢i
InvvJlment Policy
We maintain enoughmoney in our cwr¢nt aw)unt to tneet our immediate needs, therest is held in a savings account where
it earns a small amount of int¢r¢sl. Thts year we received £1190. down from Iwl yeJr which was £1560. This is merely
because of lower int¢rest rdtes being paid. We do not wish to tske any risks with th¢ money by illvesting in something
which might give a higher r¢ttrn but would inevitably be riskier.
