The truslees consist of the ministerfs) (if any). the elders and the deacons. These appointments are made by the members. New trustees are inducted by the existing trustee trfxly. 2. Objectives and activities The main objectives of the charity as set out in its governtng document are: The advancement of the Christian fatth aCC￿rding to the principles of the Baptist denomination. b. The church may also advance education and cany out other charitable purposes in the Unlted Kingdom andlor other parts of ihe world. 3. Achievements and perforniance The main achievements of the chartty in the accounting period were: The church has been meeting regularly on Sunday mornings and attendances have kept up well. We still use Zijom for ChU￿h prayer meeting4 and for members, meetings during the winter months. b. Our mini5tcr. Rcvd Dr Mark Reid. retired on 2nd February 2023. The church has apwinted a Moderator. Revd Simon Ha￿ls. to work with the leadership as we I￿k for a new minister. A church profile has been circulated to help with this proce5S. The church has agreed to sell the prewit Manse and purchase a more suitable building kfore a new mintster arrives. d. A range of visitin8 SF*akers have joined us for Sunday services" we have also used video semons. Members of the leadership team often lead worship and occasionally preach. Support for our regular home groups h&5 been g(K)d. The monthly tea and cake events have proved wipular. and attract some nonrychurch goers. f. The nurnber of mem￿rS at 31° March 2023 was 54 (58 at 31 March 2022) 4. Financial review The policy of the charity is to maintain 3 months of expenditure (typically about £16K) c&th reserves. As at 31 M￿h 2023. the cash reserves were £9K which meant that th¢ policy was nol achieved. Th¢ tTuslees are taking steps to rectify this. b. During the year to 31° March 2023. there was a net inflow of funds of £7K (compared to £2K in the previou5 accounting period. which included the initial transf￿ of £24K from the unincorporated association Maidstone Road Baptist Church). c. Monetary Control i. All moncy rcc¢ived during the weekly collection is checked by 2 people. ii. All payments made throu8h the bank are signed by 2 people.

Remuneration paid to trustees and (rther related parties. Revd Dr James Mark Rei4 a trustee. was employed fiill time as the minister to the church during the year to 31 March 2023. He resigned on 2 Febtiwy 2023. The stipend w&8 £24.068 (£28.247 in the ye4r to 31. March 2022) and he also benefited from the use of the manse. b. Rernun¢ration was not paid to any other trustee.
