Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document

THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS TO ADVANCE EDUCATION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY PROVIDING HELP AND SUPPORT TO HOME EDUCATED CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE (MAINLY AGED BETWEEN 11-18) VIA EDUCATION TRIPS, WORKSHOPS AND FUNDED EXAMS IN (MAINLY) SALFORD AND (SECONDARY) GREATER MANCHESTER.

Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)

These aims are met via our projects and our social media group. Support and information is also provided to members, home educators, the media, local government and other interested parties including voluntary agencies. In addition, members can opt in to receive news updates on all ongoing projects and charitable activities. We are also working with exam centers to offer discounts to home educated students exams.

HEOG is entirely run and managed by volunteers and the main activities undertaken by the charity are in furtherance of the public benefit. In organising these activities, trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit.
