ANNUAL CHAIRPERSONS EP RT APRIL 2024-MAR I can't believe that another year has passed and what an exciting year it has been. As usual we had our annual race daywhich was a fantastic success. Thankyou as always tothose ofyou who gave up your time so generouslyto help and support this day. l am always in awe ofthose who seamlessly organise and ensure the day goes without any hitches. This is especially to the coaches who make sure the athletes are readyto race and the organising committee who make sure everyone is in the right place at the right time. Also a huge thanks to the timing crewwho quietly make sure that the results are in order, so we are ready to go with the awards ceremony as soon as the races are ended. This is always remarked on by the other clubs who are always grateful to get away early. Summer skiing continues and whilstthe numbers are not as big as during the winter months it is great to see the dedication of those who attend. In January we had our annual trainingweek in Folgaria. This year we were joined by the Grampian club. Again. it shone a Light on how friendly and welcoming our skiers are and a great time was had by all. Thanks to the Ski Company for all their help with organisingthis trip and the cinema visit. In March we cheered Cameron and Matthewourclub representatives at the World Winter Games in Sestriere Italy What an amazing and unforgettable week for all those involved. Wewere so proud ofyou both and Cameron came awaywith a bronze medal in the GS and Matt a gold in the slalom-winning in what must have been the worst ever conditions. (Also making us wait until the very last medal of the whole games) Going forward we have welcomed new skiers this year and continue to have lots of interest from people wanting to join the club. Also, we have had interest from a couple of parents/carers who would like to take training to become instructors and we are actively pursuing this. Thanks to Debbie we will hopefully soon have a recognised qualification for our skiers who want to progress to becoming coaches, assistants. At the moment we have David Corr and Cameron devialwho areworkingwith Debbie and John each week. This is a new initiative for those skiers who want to give something back to the club after having attended the World Games. Thank you. Finally thank you as always to the coaches and helpers who so generously give up theirtime to support this amazing club. We wouldn't be as successfulwithoutyou. Your commitment is humbling and I can'tthankyou enough. To the committee who are always there to calm down my crazier ideas and give me unwavering support-Thankyou. And finally, the skiers you are the heart of this club and what a huge heartthat is. Your dedication iswonderful but the way you support each other each week is absolutely fantastic. You are an amazing bunch of people who l am so proud to know.
