Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document
The objects of the CIO are: to promote the conservation, protection, and improvement of the physical and natural environment through: (1) the conservation and re-establishment of threatened natural habitats anywhere in the world; (2) the promotion of biodiversity; (3) the reduction of greenhouse gases by natural means including, without limitation, carbon capture; and (4) the reduction in pollution generally, not limited to reduction in NOx and plastic pollution on land or ocean. For these purposes, the CIO may manage or make grants to projects anywhere in the world and may carry out land transactions or own or lease property
